    Instead of asking the pressing question on his mind, Patton smiled as brightly as he could, sticking an awkward hand out for a shake while introducing, “Awesome! I’m Patton!”
    “It is nice to meet you, Patton.” Logan smiled softly, Patton’s legs almost giving out beneath him as Logan grasped his hand.
    AHHH COLD COLD COLD COLD—
    Looking down, Patton was surprised to notice that coldness was because Logan’s hands were entirely metal, the skin of his upper arms disappearing around the elbow to expose the mechanics all the way down to his fingertips. Patton’s brain was entirely mush, not fully registering Logan’s robotic nature as he smiled goofily and let go of the handshake with an awkward chuckle. “You too!”

    Logan was good at labels, at categories. Logan sorted the citizens of his city into 6 different categories in his mind: heroes, villains, vigilantes, criminals, government authorities, and civilians, and knew how to deal with each. But… but what was he supposed to do with him.

    Virgil was just trying to survive, though he didn’t think the part of him that compelled him to throw himself into fights whenever he saw the superhero Bluebird struggling had gotten the memo. His English teacher was right; he really was stupid.

    When the villain criminal… when Shadow Caster gets injured while throwing himself into the line of fire for Logan, Logan can’t find it in himself to turn him over to be arrested. Luckily, he knows a doctor very, very well.

    Virgil is going to get kidnapped adopted by the end of it.
