“Get out!” Tommy fussed. Did Phil invite someone over? No, the guy looked closer to Techno’s age. Was he one of Techno’s friends? But why would they be here when Techno wasn’t?
“Tommy, right?”
Tommy barely blinked and suddenly the man was inches away from him. Tommy pressed himself impossibly closer to the wall and kicked out a foot. It would’ve hit the man’s chest. But it never did.
His foot went right through the man’s chest.
“What?” Tommy muttered, eyes widening to twice their size. Both fear and confusion wrapped around his brain, desperately fighting for control. Did Tommy run or investigate?
“I’m Wilbur,” the brunette grinned. “I lived here before you!”
“What… are you?” Tommy managed to spit out.
OR: Tommy moves into a new house with his family. But there's a not-so-spooky ghost lad who befriends the gremlin. They cause chaos.

When Tommy died, he didn’t expect to come back with a life threatening injury that was only visible to him. Well, Tommy didn’t expect to die in the first place, but here he was! Being newly revived and immediately interrogated by Dream was not fun. It took a while, but Sam eventually got to him and brought him out of the cell.
Or; Tommy has a magical injury, his friends don’t believe him, so he goes to his family for help.

Summary
There were so many lessons Dream had taught him, many useful ones, and many he was trying to forget.
One, was that of all the people you were supposed to avoid in the city of Esempi, the group of villains called the Syndicate were probably number one on the list.
Lethe could teleport- didn't show up often, and has never been confirmed to have killed anyone. The least dangerous, but if he's there, the other's aren't far behind.
Nemesis could manipulate water- she was most often seen with Lethe than anyone else, mostly alone, and not as strong as the final two in the Syndicate but still a force to be reckoned with.
Protesilaus was practically immortal- no one had any idea on how to injure him.
Zephyrus was the quickest- he couldn't teleport like Lethe, but he had abnormally large wings, even for an elytrian.
This information ran through Wilbur's head frantically as he saw them walk through the apartment from the closet. Wilbur's near frost-bitten hand stayed clamped against Tommy's mouth, in case he decided to scream.

Tommy had known that, he’d known that for a long time. Ever since it drove Wilbur, the closest thing he had to a brother, mad. Ever since Dream had taken his tyrannical control over it. Ever since it had resulted in his friend exiling him and putting him through the worst times of his life. L’Manburg was supposed to be his saving grace, it was supposed to be protection from the hurt and pain. Yet, it simply encouraged it. The L’Manburg that was built as a silly cover-up for a stupid drug company. The L’Manburg that brought the people closer, not the one pulling them apart.

He was going to catch that raccoon and shove it into Techno’s sorry face when he finally did.
Phil always did get what he wanted.
Or, Phil's bird brain goes batshit trying to catch the avian kid living in the forest, Techno thinks Phil is insane, and Tommy is enjoying all of the free food he's stealing from their garden. Oh and Wilbur shows up too!

The guard lumbers forward and punches in a code. It opens into a small space between the testing area and observation room. He shakes his head, taking a step back. Tears build up in his eyes.
He saw the notes, he's not stupid. He knows he's the first D-class it'll interact with. He knows the odds aren't in his favour. He couldn't get much else from the file except for the motherfucker apparently has hypnotic abilities and has a violent history. Caused a bloodbath in a little town called Brighton.
So yeah, Tommy's fucked.

Wilbur was the god of the universe.
Astral bodies were his domain. He was so vast and so grand compared to the others of his kind. More powerful than any of them could imagine.
Because of this… he was lonely.
He had the universe to watch over.
Worlds to ensure they kept spinning. Stars to ensure they kept shining. Solar systems to ensure they kept rotating. Galaxies to ensure they kept dancing.
He didn’t have much time to take a smaller form and explore the planets themselves. To speak and make friends with humans or other gods.
For in a blink, they’d be gone.
His job was a lonely job.
He decided he’d had enough.
He wanted more. He wanted someone to hold and to treasure. Someone he could call his own.
Or, Wilbur decided to craft a child to call his own. Except, other gods may be a bit jealous of Wilbur's power and decide to steal the child.

The elder abruptly cut themself off, as they threw their hands over their mouth with a harsh slap. The action however went unnoticed, as the sound of one final click echoed through the halls, as the dragging of wood on wood had the two Borrowers freeze; their attention turned to the window in favour of witnessing a hooded figure slipping through.
Someone was breaking into the house...

Tommy ran. He ran as fast as his frustratingly small legs could push. The muscles burned, as did his lungs but he pushed onward. He could hear the dogs barking, right behind him and crashing through the underbrush as loudly and carelessly as he was.
He could feel their breath on his heels already. Waiting for the moment to snap at him, to tear through his Achilles tendon, to bring him down and take him back-Tommy couldn’t do that. He’d rather throw himself off a cliff than be taken back to that awful place. His soft feathered downy wings fluttered, but the new feathers were too fine to catch the wind and carry him away. He sobbed in frustration. Hot tears wet pouring down his face, but despite the way they were blurring his vision, Tommy pressed on.
He kept going.
Only forward.
