Daniel loses his mind following the event of Queen of the Damned and Marius de Romanus takes him in. It's never clear what makes Daniel mentally ill in the books, but I figured I'd apply the show's logic and see what came out. My apologies to all my other fics.

Summary
The Shelbys are in a bad situation, made worse by the three breadwinners volunteering for the war. What will Polly and the kids do for money? Arthur, furious that his younger brothers lied about their ages to join up, is desperately trying to gather as much money as he can before they all leave. An offer comes to Arthur that is too good to pass up, but it means selling his overly eager little brother to some big American for one night - well it was supposed to only be one night.
Note: Rape/non-con warning but it doesn't really come up until much later in the story and is comparatively mild.

He stood from the desk and tried to take Tommy’s chin in his hand. Tommy whipped his head away, but the Station Chief had him and they both knew it. "Every man has his price, Tommy, you said it yourself," he said quietly, smoothing his hair back from his face in a performative act of gentleness. "This is mine. So what's it going to be, eh?"
The question hung heavy between them and, after a moment, Tommy faced him and let out a halting, defeated breath. The Chief recognized his victory and walked across the room to lock his office door. When he heard the lock latch it was like the very air in the room changed. Tommy thought back to Grace in this awful moment...what had he told her all those years ago?

Summary
Julian and Garak's relationship is exposed to the DS9 community when Julian is accused of espionage simply for sleeping with "the enemy." His friends are stunned and many do not know how to accept the relationship or the accusations. During this personal strife an Obsidian order/ Dominion plot to get rid of Garak while also taking out as many Federation ships as possible unfolds.
