“It’s too late in the year for apples,” Max said, his voice softer now.
“But they like them,” Lando insisted, his words tight with stubbornness and a trace of guilt.
“But no one has them,” Max said, trying to keep the edge out of his voice. He glanced down at Lando’s leg as the younger stumbled to keep up. “How’s your leg?”
“Leave it, Max. I’m fine,” Lando muttered, not meeting his eyes.
Max didn’t push any further. He just nodded, though he watched Lando out of the corner of his eye, saw the way he favoured his left side, how every step seemed to pain him. Market days always took it out of him, the jostling crowds, the long walks, but Lando would never admit it.
Max raised his voice over the noise of the market as the rest of there group came into view. “I found him he was looking for apples!”
“It’s not the right season for apples,” George called back from where he was securing some logs to the back of his horse.
“But they like them,”

It begins with blood.The delicate treaty that Sebastian had with the surface for so long starts coming apart at the seams, bit by bit, when one of his courtiers gets attacked by the humans. Tensions build in the Aurelian Court- the timing isn’t great, not at all. Charles is about to take the underwater throne, tensions are high, and the humans have tasted blood, and it is unlikely they will stop at just one of them.
While HRIMC and RISE have a cold war on the surface, Seb needs to convince his people against going on an all out war against the humans. Max only gets better at hunting mers, not knowing why. Lewis heads the HRIMC, yes, but his love hides a betrayal so grave it threatens to rock the very foundations of everything he’s built.
OR,
The ocean remembers everything. Love, secrets, memories whispered into its depths. And one random day, it spits them back, bringing back bonds that should have severed and boys who should’ve stayed dead.

“Dude, Spiderman was opposite the building again! He’s been there so much recently, I’m starting to think he lives here or something.”
Oscar choked on a french fry, lightly patting his chest and grabbing his drink to wash it down. “Have you thought about the fact that he probably likes the area?”
“No! He goes there with a hoodie and a backpack, he’s probably on his way home or something! Could you imagine? Spiderman could actually live in the flats opposite us!” Lando exclaimed, turning his head to the window and he could slightly see the same building. The world now becoming suffocated by the increasing darkness, the sunset long gone.
Oscar pinched the bridge of his nose, “I think you’re reading into this way too much, mate.”

Lando is obsessed with the friendly-neighbourhood Spiderman and Oscar is his good best friend that listens.

Summary
Formula one cars move at over 300 km/h. That means over 80 meters go by in a second; and that is the reason why drivers train their reflexes.
Oscar barely saw it coming his way, it came at him too suddenly, but that is no excuse, he trains his reflexes for a reason.
Later, reviewing the onboards and multiple track cameras, he’d learn that Max had swerved too close over the edge and displaced the debris. It bumped into the side of his car and the wind sent it flying backwards right onto Oscar’s path.
But that is at a later date, right now Oscar tries to swerve to avoid the mysterious object.
And he fails.
