Distraught that not only has Shiro betrayed them and allowed the Castle of Lions to fall, but being told by her captor that he has murdered all of her friends, she does the only thing she can think of to keep herself safe: side with the Galra. They can't all be that bad, right? Besides, she won't let herself turn out like that traitor who betrayed them all. She's not an idiot like that. Besides, Haxus...isn't totally awful.
Forced to lie through his teeth to keep Pidge from the same fate that befell Matt at the hands of Sendak and Haxus, Shiro find himself forced into the position of Sendak's pet, much to his hatred. He has to hold out, keep everything together for her, even though she thinks he's a traitor. He made a promise to protect the Holts, and he's not going to stop now. One day he'll get through to her, and she'll see the light. He just hopes it's soon, because Sendak is so much worse this time round now that he's won.

Summary
For one, brief second, Keith considers giving up as the golden glow of his right eye stares him down, threatening to tear him apart in the best of ways while the softer, magenta hue of his left holds nothing but tender adoration—he wants everything those eyes promise, he deserves it, but he can’t take it, not just yet. He needs to draw this out, if only for a bit longer.
Perhaps it’s already too late. By the time Keith regains his senses, he’s coming closer, reaching out to him with a clawed hand, his razor-sharp nails ghosting over Keith’s cheek but still not touching him, as if true contact is a reward he hasn’t quite earned yet. In spite of his best efforts to maintain some semblance of composure, Keith can’t help the soft sound he will forever deny as a whimper that escapes his lips as the tip of his chaser’s nose traces along the shell of his ear.
“Run.” The whisper is all it takes to set Keith back into motion. He doesn’t think about it, his body just moves, turning him back around and forcing one foot in front of the other and beginning the chase all over again.

Still grieving over Antok's death in his own timeline, and fearing being torn away from him again by whatever mysterious laws govern time in the quantum abyss, Kolivan vows to keep his distance, even when they become partners again. It looks like history might repeat itself, but fate has a funny way of stepping in with a second chance.

“It’s good to have you back, Krolia.” Kolivan came up behind her in the Blade of Marmora’s lab. She had changed out of her Imperial armor and back into her Marmora suit, the former having been shed like an itchy skin the moment she was back on the base. Now, she was transferring all the data she had gathered during her undercover work and synchronizing it with their network. Always working, Kolivan thought. He was guilty of the same habit, though, so he could hardly fault her. Just try to encourage her to take a break.
He laid a hand on her shoulder, and she shot him a cold glare. “You’re an idiot, Kolivan.”
He arched an eyebrow, the lack of title not escaping his notice. She didn’t often call him by his given name, not since he became the group’s leader. “For?”
(Kolivan and Krolia have a discussion that ends in much-needed stress relief. Unfortunately, someone else stumbles upon them in the act)
