The quiet sound of the opening door caused Hua Cheng to look over as another fresh breeze of air brushed past the red curtains, causing the golden chains to tingle slightly. A young man stepped inside, his long, brown hair following him like a coat made of silk, framing an ethereal, pale face so beautiful it punched the air out of Hua Cheng’s lungs.
His eyes met amber ones and suddenly, the time stood still.
„Welcome.“ He Xuan said flatly, oblivious to the stupor his friend found himself in.
„Good evening.“ The man smiled, with a voice as gentle as the setting sun behind him as his warm gaze shifted between Hua Cheng and He Xuan. „I have a reservation at 7, my name is Xie Lian.“

Summary
Every relationship comes with certain flaws. Let it be the couples that seemed to be glued together no matter where they went, or the couples that needed to show themselves off whenever the opportunity arose. Let it be the ones that are driven with jealousy, unable to let their significant other stroll around unsupervised or the ones that were constantly surrounded by tooth-rotting fluff, exchanging sweet nothings and gentle touches, deliberately ignoring every eye-roll in their direction.
And then there were Mu Qing and Feng Xin, constantly challenging each other, bickering at each other, cursing each other and blaming each other until they reached a point where one might ask what it was that kept them together, how they even managed one single night in the same bed without killing each other on the spot.

„Do you like it?“ Feng Xin breathed into his ear as he brushed a loosen strand of hair behind it.
„Don’t be ridiculous,“ Mu Qing frowned back, suppressing a shiver that was running down his spine at the feeling of Feng Xin’s hot breath that was breezing over his skin. „I’m not into woman, why would I like such things?“
„I’m not talking about that woman,“ Feng Xin whispered, one hand brushing over Mu Qing’s lower body in slow, circling movements. „I’m talking about them being so into it despite the risk of being watched.“
„This is stupid.“ Mu Qing sneered.
„Is it?“ Feng Xin whispered, trailing his hand further down until he was able to feel the slight bulge in Mu Qing’s pants. The latter bit down on his lip to swallow down a gasp. „And yet you are still watching.“

It has been centuries since the last time Hua Cheng lost himself in one of his murals. After many hundred years of practice to improve his calligraphy skills Hua Cheng almost forgot that there was a time when he used his brush to paint instead. Not that he was that eager in the beginning. He could almost hear Xie Lian’s voice next to his ear, lamenting about the countless ‘Gege’-doodles he used to draw whenever he got tired of all the practice sheets Xie Lian had prepared for him.
It was comforting, almost soothing, the way his silver butterflies circled around his hand, providing light spots wherever he needed them as swift strokes slowly formed the outlines of the biggest masterpiece he ever created.
