“Ash,” Blue corrects, frowning. “Good to know that at least one of us was spared the stupid Pallet Town naming tradition.”
“Oh. Oh.” Leaf laughs, looping her arm through Blue’s to drag him towards the two conversing trainers. “I get it. They do look kinda similar, huh? Maybe Ash is a fan. Well, that, or they’re both into pikachus, battling, and dressing like their mom still picks out their clothes.”
“Red’s mom does still pick out his clothes,” Blue says, tone heavy with resignation. “But that’s not the point, can’t you tell they—” Blue sighs and rolls his eyes again. “You know what? Nevermind.”
Or, Red and Ash try to hide the fact that Ash is Red's alternate self. They didn't factor in Blue's uncanny ability to recognize Red from a mile away.

Summary
The union of three of my favourite PL:A character-related tropes:
- Ingo is Zekrom (& Emmet is Reshiram)
- Volo is Cynthia
- Akari is the DPPt protagonist
ft. very long time loopIt is my belief that each story can be read standalone, though reading other stories in the series will definitely strengthen your overall understanding. The planned exception will be the fifth, and likely final, work in this series.
Series Overview (spoiler-free)
• Don't wait for me after I'm gone - The beginning of the end & the time loop. Immediately post-canon of PL:A.
• A part to play, living by written lines - ~50 years pre-DPPt/BW, Ingo and Volo meet for the first time since Hisui.
• Inside of a lens - Volo/Cynthia and Dawn, during DPPt & what comes after Akari returns to Sinnoh. Final chapter takes place a week post-BW.
• Rise above it all - N seeks out Zekrom, triggering a cascade of events that brings Ingo and Emmet together at last. Follows the latter half of BW.

Summary
After the events of Death Note, Light Yagami is left drifting alone in the endless sea of MU, slowly fading away. When a mysterious and godly being named Arceus appears, he’s given a second chance in a new world with the task to save it. His plans go off course after an accident wipes his memories and turns him into a Riolu. Luckily, he’s not alone, as a strange Sneasel, who seems familiar, finds him unconscious on a beach and the two join together to find who they once were and figure out why time has been thrown out of balance.
