It was the chipper year of 1933. Alastor was in his mid 20's, being a typical radio host by day..but by night he was up to no good. Due to his newfound passion for the kill, Charlie whom was in hell wanted to intervene, sure she didn't have to but she had nothing better to do due to her old project failing on her. With her own power (and her father allowing her); she Left hell and went to earth..to possibly stop Alastor and help him to ensure his redemption and ticket into heaven. She was no angel, but being the daughter of a fallen one is all it took.

'I won't kill you, if you teach me sign language.' Taph read it, staring at it a bit longer before pointing to himself. It was a good offer, Taph avoiding rounds of pain that Jason was in, for the exchange of education.
'Me?' Is what he seemed to convey to Jason. The killer nodded in response.
Taph stayed silent for a beat longer before the wings around him seemed to unfurl. He pointed towards the notepad, making a writing gesture with his hands. Jason fished out the pencil in the pocket of his jacket, handing Taph the notepad and pencil.
After a little bit of scribbling, Taph showed the words to Jason. 'Do you know the alphabet?'
A shake of Jason's head showed he in fact did not. Taph nodded, scribbling once again. 'We'll start with the alphabet.'
Or just Jason learning sign language from Taph.

Scooter blinks, face stained with that tell-tale rouging. Each swallow, mechanical. Teeth’s eyes scan him, the pupil tracking; dissolving into something watery and kind upon realization. “It’s different if you haven’t been around music a real long time. If you never really heard it much. But I bet you’re hearin’ it now.” He claps him on the shoulder, always sending assurance through touch. Something rough and friendly—wisdom from a brother, guidance from a presence so much older. More learned in many ways, with age. Yet free in that childlike sense, still untouched by the grit of the world. Unsanded, infant smooth, with a mouth full of milk teeth that are so, so blinding.
All the same, he can’t deny that smile. How it all begins slotting into place.
