Summary

How long can a lie remain a lie before it becomes a justification to linger? For how long can one lie about motivations before the lie becomes their truth?
Shadow Milk Cookie makes good on his threat that Pure Vanilla Cookie's kindness will be his undoing. He arrives in the Vanilla kingdom asking for help, lying that his followers have turned on him and his magic is gone. This lie wraps him up in itself until he is completely enmeshed, unable to tell where the lie ends, and where his true motivations begin. That lie becomes an excuse to linger.

Summary
This was no memory. He was actually here, back at the Silver Tree. Before the world collapsed, before the beasts were set free, before... everything. In a moment, they would fail to reseal the tree, setting Shadow Milk Cookie free from his restraints. There was still the possibility of this being one of Shadow Milk's games, but it just didn't make sense. He wouldn't be so foolish as to send Pure Vanilla into the past.
He's in the past... Before everything went wrong. He had the chance to fix everything-- stop the beasts from spreading their chaos and destruction. Stop his friends from suffering. But, most importantly, he had the chance to speak to Shadow Milk again and understand him better-- to convince him that they truly were one in the same.
It was a second chance.

The Virtue of Knowledge, Blueberry Milk Cookie, starts to realize his soul jam has become corrupt. He scatters the corrupted pieces and keeps the pure untouched part for himself. He then disappears without a trace, leaving his other virtues with the grim misunderstanding that he is dead.
Blueberry Milk doesn’t realize this simple action will set off a chain of events that will change everything.

At the cusp of defeat, Shadow Milk gets transported to a backwards world: Dark Enchantress was sealed away before she could do any lasting damage, the Beasts never came to be, and the Ancients rule over an otherwise peaceful world.
Oh, and apparently his counterpart is dead and hailed as a hero. Because his life wasn’t already complicated enough.

What happens when the guy who basically saved all of cookiekind comes back as an evil, corrupted version of himself?

Burning Spice travels to Crispia to get revenge on Golden Cheese but when trying the local cuisine is disgusted by the food being bland and lacking spices. Burning spice puts his plans on hold to try and fix the disgrace that is the local cuisine resulting in him creating an influential restaurant. But maybe not.
It didn’t matter.
The dream would be his.

Shadow Milk is torn between further corruption and redemption. But comfort is easy to fake. Paradise is easier to build when it’s built on lies. Maybe he’ll make his own.

I never expected this.
Shadow milk showing up on my doorstep less than a month after our last battle.
"Why are you here?" I ask, staring at him. He's injured. Clearly. Badly. But I cannot offer my help. Not until I know more. I simply cannot trust him the way I want to.
"I-" he seems surprised by the question. He thinks for a moment, before sighing. "I didn’t know where else to go."
Or
Shadow milk ends up making a habit of asking pure vanilla to patch him up when he gets into a fight, and things begin to escalate beyond his control.

Whatever this stupid obstacle was, it prevented him from leaving. No matter. He can just float over it.
