    Peter Parker is a ghost in his own story...

     

    Months after the spell that erased him from everyone’s memory, he’s living in the shadows; no ID, no support, no one left to save. He works three under-the-table jobs, patrols at night in a suit held together by desperation, and survives on barely edible food and sheer willpower. His healing factor is failing. His body is crashing. And he’s not sure how much longer he can keep going.

    Then he runs into Bucky Barnes. THE Winter Soldier.

    Peter slips. Says too much. Moves too fast. And Bucky, who shouldn’t remember him, starts asking questions. Questions that could unravel everything.

    Now Peter’s spiraling, terrified that one moment of recognition could collapse the universe all over again. With nowhere left to turn, he makes a choice: break into Avengers Tower, patch up his suit, and maybe, just maybe, survive one more night.

    Before he collapses. For good.

    "Now, concerning the actual mission itself," she snaps, pressing a button on her controller. The security feed buzzes to life, grainy footage showing the grim insides of cell; there's a small figure curled up, picking at her chains as she shifts. The murmurs spark to life once again, rising in volume until Morozov pounds the table with her fist for silence.

    "This is Morgan Stark," she smiles, "the daughter of Tony Stark." There's glee laced in her voice with pride now, strong and true. "And this is how HYDRA will take down Iron Man, and soon, The Avengers."

    Morgan Stark. Tony Stark. Daughter. Child.

    She couldn't be older than six. Maybe four, five years old. Through the grainy footage, he can see her struggle up to glare at the camera. She says something intelligible.

    Something unfamiliar and awful and traitorous squirms uncomfortably in Agent 8's gut. He ignores it.

    OR

    Agent Figure 8 — once known as Peter Parker — is ordered to guard a certain Morgan Stark for a HYDRA mission; he decides he has his qualms about this. Tony Stark just wants his kid back.

    Tony hadn’t been completely lying. He did have a problem, one that involved Peter, which is exactly why he can’t help Tony solve the problem. But trying to hide that from Peter was quickly becoming another problem.

    Tony didn’t want to worry Peter, but he wasn’t sure how to go about his problem without worrying Peter.

    Allowing Peter to keep coming and going like normal wasn’t working, as evidenced by Peter immediately clocking that something was wrong. But now, if he were to suddenly put some distance between them and suddenly stop seeing him, it would only make Peter worry more and probably assume that he did something wrong, and then both of them would be spiraling.

    Tony wasn’t sure what to do.

    That wasn’t true. He knew exactly what he should do. The whole problem could easily be solved with just a quick sentence.

    (Or: Tony FINALLY realizes he loves Peter as his own, and is slowly working up to directly admitting it to Peter.
    Also: Peter's got a plan.)

    After the deaths of his parents, Peter Parker—along with his two other siblings—were put under the care of his alcoholic aunt. Twelve years later, Peter is juggling life as a sixteen-year-old caretaker of his four cousins, a prodigious student, and a Pizza King employee. Oh yeah, and he’s Spider-Man.

    As things start to unfurl, Tony Stark—Peter’s mentor—starts to suspect some issues at home. Peter can’t let his role model know anything or else he risks losing their budding relationship or, more importantly, his family.

    TLDR: Aunt May sucks, Peter has to pick up the slack because she’s not only his guardian, but the guardian of his two other siblings & her own four kids. Peter is trying his best. Tony wants to help.
