He wanted Velvette to shut up. Val chittered again, angrily.
“Protecting Vox from the fake gho—”
That was it. Val left the room, screaming obscenities in the air as he went into his wing of the penthouse and slammed the doors behind himself.

It’s a pretty simple formula, really. But effective. The more airheaded he comes across, the more Vox opens up. But then, Val notices a pattern.
Vox’s plans always work. Never in their -is it seven years now?- partnership has Vox ever dragged Val’s hesitant ass into a battle they didn’t win.

The silence in V Tower has become unbearable two weeks after the failed attack on Heaven. Vox knows his obsession with Alastor almost cost them everything, including his empire and his relationship with Valentino.
Swallowing his pride and shutting down his logic, Vox decides to go to Val's room to offer the only thing he has left: a sincere apology. He expects screaming, hitting, or indifference, but he isn't prepared for the confession Valentino has kept hidden amidst the smoke and rage.
(Or Vox and Val finally have the conversation they should have had a long time ago.)
