"You really should stop picking fights with older kids," Sua said, picking up the notebook from the ground. "You can't beat them, you know?"
From the notebook fell papers. Loose papers, most likely. It wasn't her intention, but honestly, why was this kid so messy? Sua's faces went from pale to flustered, to back to pale, unsure of what to do. She wondered if she was going to get shouted at, perhaps even intimidated for destroying the boy's things.
But, despite, his looks…the boy didn't get angry. He didn't even seem bothered that Sua had left everything flow out of the notebook. Only…upset.
"…Sorry…" Was all Sua managed to say.
"…it was nothing worth keeping, I guess," the boy said. His eyes, however, betrayed his words. It surely was important. Why he didn't want to admit it was a mystery.

He was just about to get up and furiously leave. He already had the five-dollar bill crumbled up next to the black coffee - that would be enough for the tip, he guessed - when a peal of soft laughter came through the air.
The rough sound of wheels against tiles, then the radio’s sound turned into a song.
And then a voice.
A cheesy song, one he’d heard. Maybe it was in one of Tonia’s old movies, or maybe Teucer had hoarded it in one of the million tapes Childe had burnt for him. From wherever it was, it was familiar. Catchy and contagious. The light tapping of his pen unconsciously matched its rhythm, and despite himself, the corner of his lips tug upwards.
It was not enough to call it a smile. But it was more than Childe had felt in a long while.

Luo Binghe’s back started to sweat cold, his breathing agitated. The creature moved, kidney still in hand and with no issue dragging the blood across the tiles. Petrified, Luo Binghe was only able to grip at the end of his knife tightly. He couldn’t run, he couldn’t scream. The closer the creature got, the more it looked like a grim reaper. An angel of death, with beauty so outstanding it caused him pure fear.
This was stupid. Was he really going to be killed like this? Because of a silly mistake that got him trapped with the least scary zombie he’d ever seen? The creature was smaller than average, although still a head taller than Binghe. It looked so fragile as he was dressed in a hospital gown. From the looks of it, it was a sickly kid a few years older, that got caught in the crossfire of the outbreak inside hospitals. You couldn't find a less-threatening-looking zombie out there, even if you actively searched for it.
