Ellen’s lips pinch tightly at the corners. “Then they will issue a full denial and Henry will tour the commonwealth himself.”
Alex doesn't hesitate. “Tell them we’ll do it. I’m not gonna let him do this alone."
It would kill him. Henry hates this shit. The public parading, the judgment. Having to do all of that, and deny who he is? Alex at least wants to be there, to hold his hand through it. Even if it's just as a friend.
It might kill Alex to pretend, but that’s a small price to pay to ensure Henry—his beautiful, vibrant, funny-as-hell, brilliant ex-not-quite-boyfriend—isn’t killed instead.

I’m normally not a phone call eavesdropper - because, like, rude - but also, the last time Tim answered the phone on date night with, “Hey Conner, what’s up?”, the weekend took a very, very interesting turn. So when I see him checking a notification tonight, and his reaction is to frown, tap the screen, and wander off with his free hand in his pocket saying, “Hey Kon, saw your text, what is that?”, I’m paying very, very close attention.

Bernard pops the top off his water bottle, a roll of his wrist at the perfect angle and it comes right off, and pops the faucet in Tim’s very nice kitchen to cold. Tim presses a kiss to the back of Bernard’s neck before Tim moves to the fridge to get his own water.
Bernard used to not drink as much water, but Tim drinks enough water for three people a day so Bernard naturally has followed- and now Bernard has no acne so he’s sort of mad about it actually. “The main character has two hands.” Bernard chimes easy and teasing. “Polygamy is the awnser here babe.”
