Both Kuai Liang and Tomas get automated, because Tomas makes the last moment decision not to let Kuai Liang get captured, which ends badly for both of them. But that decision and its result make Lord Raiden get a better grasp of the situation and changes everything.However, both Smoke and Sub-Zero are left with their new bodies and have to adjust every single aspect of their life to their new circumstances. As suspicion grows among the soldiers, superstition turning to paranoia, the brothers’ bond is threatened under the weight of guilt, desire, and conflicting love.
