A look of comprehension has begun to dawn on Buck’s face, suddenly.
“Because I was logged in on the iPad,” he says slowly.

“I didn’t say -” Buck tries to defend himself, but Eddie barrels right through it.
“You saying I wouldn’t treat you right?” Eddie stands and puts his hands on his hips, because apparently it’s that serious. “Let me tell you something, Buck, I’d blow your mind.”
When Buck jokingly says he wouldn't date Eddie, Eddie sets out to prove he'd be an amazing boyfriend. Platonically, of course, because they're just best friends. And nothing more.

"You look exactly the same," Eddie says with tears in his eyes. "How is that even possible?"
"I don't know," Buck says, his thumb swiping across Eddie's knuckles. "I don't understand it."
He may be the same, but looking at Eddie, Buck can see the years on him. His hair is a bit different, the creases by the corners of his eyes just a bit deeper. There's a new scar on his right hand that Buck hasn't seen before.He'd know these hands blind, but it takes him a moment to notice it still. His fingers brush over it once, and then again before he actually looks down and sees the thin golden band wrapped around Eddie's ring finger. Then he just—stares at it, stupidly, for a second. Before Eddie pulls his hands back, and leaves Buck's hanging empty in the space between them.
"You're married," he says.

Summary
Diaz gets right up in his face and wow, his eyes are even more beautiful up close.
“You can endanger yourself as much as you want if you’ve got a death wish, but you don’t get to put your team or the people we are trying to save on the line.”
Then he’s turning on his heels and storming away.
And look, Buck will be pissed off about it later, how Diaz thought he could just walk up to Buck and spit him out like that, but right now he’s got a perfect view of Diaz’s ass as he walks away and his upper brain immediately stops working because fuck, what an ass. Buck really wants to get his hands on it and squeeze.
Too bad the guy it’s attached to is a bit of a dick.

Two out of three of those aren’t unusual.
It’s six weeks since the lightning. Five weeks and two days since Buck woke up. Four weeks and three days since he was released from hospital. Four weeks exactly since he came home, came to stay at the Diaz house while he recuperates, like he should have from the start.
It’s been three weeks and four days since they started sharing the bed.

There's too much spinning round his brain, and he’s forgetting something, he knows he is.
He’d got Buck into his harness, double- no triple checked every buckle and loop, he’d looked Buck in the eye and asked him to come home with him. To him.

Then Buck had climbed as he had manned the controls. He’d stopped, with panic in his voice and then the world had lit up.

His sharp intake of breath must tip Hen off because she starts to speak, to say his name as Eddie gets a skinned-hand beneath himself and pushes upward, looking past her.
Backlit by the highrise lights, Buck’s blurred form sways from his final stop two-thirds up the extended ladder, only the single strap of fabric suspending him from plummeting to the asphalt below.

Summary
When the 118 find out about Buck’s secret thirst account on Instagram – to raise fire safety awareness, obviously – they make fun of him the appropriate amount and move on. Eddie, who has had some recent and birthmark-shaped revelations about his feelings, finds it a little harder to do the same.
Of course, Eddie would never invade Buck’s privacy by searching for and finding the anonymous account. Or looking at all the uploaded photos late at night. Or even directly messaging Buck’s secret account. That would be weird, because he’s certainly not planning on doing anything about his newfound attraction.
However, anonymous account @elbombero118 has no such limitations.
