“Grace and Simon mates now, question?”
Rocky had dropped by in the morning, before Grace was going to his class. Grace almost spat out the poor excuse for coffee the Eridians had managed to synthesize after the real one ran out. Instead, he swallowed it wrong, and had a little coughing fit.
“What? Why would you ask that?” Grace said after he recovered his voice.
“Grace and Simon live together, do everything together, like mates,” Rocky said.
“Ah. No buddy, we’re just friends. Like you and me. Like we lived together on the journey here.”
“Grace and Simon sleep together,” Rocky added.
Grace felt the tip of his ears heat up.
“Um, yes. We sleep together. Only sleep.”
Rocky couldn’t possibly know the double entendre in the phrase “sleeping together”, but still, Grace felt the need to clarify that.

Grace and Simon started sharing a bed soon after they reached Erid. Holding Simon as he fell a asleep was the best way to keep nightmares at bay, ensuring Simon he was safe. It's just what friends do. Right?Bookmarked by Fantasy_Kim

Grace choked for the second time. He really should learn to stop sipping around Rocky. Simon froze in place, glaring over his shoulder at Rocky. And then at Grace, for taking too long to say no.
“No way in hell,” Simon finally answered, eyes narrowed.
“Is for science!” Rocky repeated, like that was supposed to mean something.
OR: Eridians have no concept of casual sex. Rocky walks in on Simon and Grace, and wants to learn more. Y'know, for science!

An idea pops off in Simon's head as bright as a supernova. Maybe not as brilliant though. "Will, uh— this might sound stupid. But will pleasure help you relax?"
Simon feels Grace freeze as still as a sleeping Eridian. "Um. What?"
"Y'know." Simon can feel his own cheeks heat. But he's already dug his grave. Might as well hop in it too. "Like. Remember the thing I did with my fingers? I can do that again. If you want me to. To get your mind off things? It helped before."
Grace pushes off of Simon and stares at him like he lost his mind. Like he said something so utterly insane that even Grace can't wrap his head around it. And this is the same guy that took his helmet off in space, mind you, a day after meeting an interstellar alien in a completely different star system!
"Um. Is it a bad idea?" Simon asks wearily.
Ryland Grace wakes up from a nightmare. Simon has an idea on how to calm him down.

He pictured Simon behind him pressed all along his back, hot and heavy and breathing like he was barely holding himself together. Simon’s hand over his mouth. Grace wanted it so fucking bad. He wanted Simon wound past thinking, past all that restraint. Wanted Simon’s teeth at his neck and Simon’s hand low on his stomach, holding him still while Grace fell apart against him. He wanted Simon making those broken growling sounds into his skin like Grace was prey, or food, or home, or some fucked-up fourth thing Grace didn’t have a word for.
Grace’s knees bent; he was barely standing.
He bit down on his lip to keep quiet and pushed his fingers deeper.
A low breath came from in front of him.
“Grace.”
His eyes snapped open.
Shit.

Summary
After a lab accident leaves Ryland Grace, an Omega, allergic to at least five different brands of suppressants and heat-blockers, he eventually gives in and signs up for something known as a Pairing Program.
See, Grace’s situation wasn’t actually all that uncommon. Plenty of Alphas and Omegas developed allergies or intolerances overtime to their medications. Sometimes people became immune to the effects, sometimes people just didn’t enjoy taking them.
All Grace was really looking for when he signed up for this program was for an Alpha that would treat him nicely and would help him feel less miserable during his heats.
He never expected to fall in love.
Why would he? That's the type of thing that happened to OTHER people. It didn't happen to him. -
