The implication struck him and he only barely managed to keep himself from falling on her, ready to devour her whole.
“You… You don’t know what you’re offering.” Each word was a struggle to get out and his hand became a claw where it was pressed against his chest.
“I know what I’m offering,” she insisted.
“No, you don’t.” He grimaced as another wave hit him, his very bones aching.
“I could devour you,” he warned, pleaded. If she reconsidered, took back her offering, took the choice from him, he wouldn’t have to worry. He couldn’t outright refuse, not with her there, so close, that crackling magic of hers and the heat of her body a waved carrot in front of a hungry maw. The words wouldn’t come. He was only so strong.
She met his gaze, steady, direct. “So devour me.”

Hermione must face her chosen family and friends while processing what happened in the cabin, scramble to stop a Ministry plot that would rewind the social progress made since the war and threaten Lucius’ future, and come to terms with the fact that she has fallen for a viciously flawed man who seems hellbent on sabotaging himself.
