Summary
The sisters neared the decorative fountains outside Resistance HQ, slowing their pace when they spotted Mira with Evfra in the shade. Those two were a common sight nowadays, and although churning water from surrounding water muffled their conversation, Mira's smile hinted that she held a pleasant conversion with the Resistance leader.
"It's so weird," Riti blurted out. She hadn't realized when she and Rash stopped, even less so when she had begun to sip her drink.
Her eye twitched as she almost choked and Rash added, "They're, like, polar opposites. Our Mira is a firecracker and he—"
"Looks like he's perpetually sucking on a lemon. Yeah."

Mira met Riti's glare with a smirk, which fell with her following sigh. "That's hard, ya know? And awkward. Weird ass Angara."
"Evfra isn't even as free with his emotions as Jaal," Riti muttered into her half-eaten sandwich. She savored its salty flavor, wondering how the Resistance leader could remain so distant. Wasn't that lonely?
"He called me something last time we docked there," added Mira in an undertone. "It was in Shelesh. SAM had a close translation though."
"Which was?"
"Slut."
Riti munched slowly, gaze focused on her sister's deadpan.

Jaal raised an eye ridge. "There's hardly anything remarkable about me or my life. I'm one of many who served in the Resistance, and my family is small, comparatively. Paaran Shie has fourteen brothers and sisters."
"Which is crazy."
"It's an average number."
"For Angara. How does a true mother stay sane? I get that she doesn't raise the kids on her own, but damn."
"It is a blessing to have so many children; I would be ecstatic if you gave me as many."

The horizon started as a long-shot goal: settlement in Andromeda. Who knew six hundred years later that the horizon would lead to the Angara? Or, more specifically, to Jaal Ama Derav? Ritika Ryder sure didn’t. Then again, nothing in the Heleus Cluster had been expected—not the Scourge, the Kett, the Remnant, nor the striking love behind Jaal’s corny lines.

Summary
The Cause and Effect Saga is a multi-arch storyline centered around the adult turtles and their family/friends. It focuses on character growth and the importance of relationships with family, friends, and romantic interests alike. Each book has its own theme and tone. They all interconnect, though, and show that the problems one faces in their life are the production of other's decisions, and how they choose to resolve those problems will, in turn, affect those around them.
The world is a mixture. It's set in the 2k3 universe (in which seasons 1-3 and some of 4 took place) with minor elements from the 2007 movie and comics. Some physical features were taken from the 2k12 series as well.
