Summary
Oh, this was fucking perfect. Vi had been pissed since they had spotted the shiny, silver and blue bus that had “University of Piltover” painted on the side in neat font stopped on the side of the road with steam rolling out of the engine.
Vander and Ekko had gotten off to see if Ekko could help.
Ekko had gotten back on the bus after not very long, hollering over the music, which had gotten cranked since they were just sitting there, “yeah, they’re stuck. Radiator’s shot, it’ll need replacement parts and we’re nowhere near auto stores.”
There were a few groans of sympathy, despite the fact that the whole team knew the bus was full of a bunch of stuck up Pilties.
Vander wasn’t back on the bus yet, which meant…Vi didn’t know what.
“Hey, Mylo! Can you see him? What’s happening?”
“I don’t know. Oh, hold up. He just pointed at the bus! The fuck does that mean?”
Vi had a sneaking suspicion that whatever it meant, it was likely to make her day worse.

Caitlyn is the rifle team captain for the University of Piltover, Vi's the boxing team captain for Zaun U, and they hate each other...but they're stuck together until they get back home

Summary
“Caitlyn.”
“Oh,” Jinx says knowingly, glancing Vi’s way out of the corner of her eye. “That’s the, uh, the cop girl, right? Maddie’s ex?”
A chorus of mutters and nods is the response.
“I’m being warned about her,” Vi tells her sister and Jinx blows her bangs out of her face.
“Good,” she says, almost snappishly. “Yeah, don’t date cop girl. You should date someone cool.”
“I’m not going to date anyone, not for a while. I need to get back on my feet first,” says Vi, drumming her fingers against the condensation of the glass. Thinking of Cupcake in her contacts, and that teasing smile.
Everything in Vi’s life right now is starting over. She’s spending the holidays on her sister’s pull-out futon, trying to make sense of the avalanche of changes, salvage what’s left of her family and figure out what she’s going to do next. The last thing she expects to do is include the beautiful woman she runs into on her first day in town, or this Caitlyn that everyone’s warning her to stay away from.

Summary
Vi looks at the big clock on the far wall. 7:46AM. She’s one minute late today. Every morning for the past six months - well, every morning Vi’s been on shift, so she’s just assuming about the other days - she’s passed by at exactly 7:45AM, always at a brisk walk, always in a perfectly-tailored suit, not a single long, silky-looking hair out of place.
7:47AM. The crisp clack of heeled boots on concrete pulls Vi out of her musings. There must have been some sort of emergency, because the subject of Vi’s (minor) obsession walks past the fire station at a faster clip than normal. Which is sort of saying something, because Mystery Woman’s got legs for days, long and slender, visibly toned with long, lean muscle through her suit pants. At the faster clip, Vi has less time to admire her ass and tiny, tiny waist as she walks by, but that’s fine, because the view as she leaves is fantastic.
OR
Caitlyn's route to work as a detective at the 51st Precinct takes her right by Fire Station #516, and Vi's been pining after the gorgeous Mystery Woman for six months...what will happen when she finds out that Caitlyn's a cop (AKA: The Enemy)?

Summary
In the aftermath of Sirène, Lune takes out her guitar and reassesses her past choices. Sciel helps her make some future ones.
##
"Don't you find it funny? Lune, the moon. Sciel, the sky. There's almost a poetry to it, to the two of us."
"I don't entirely believe in poetry." The words come out almost too defensively.
Sciel stops, suddenly, and turns to watch her, still fidgeting idly with the bracelets lining her arm. "A musician who doesn't believe in poetry?"
"There are obvious metaphors worth rescinding, I think. You are bright and loving and warm, and I have always been cold. It's a tale told a thousand times."

Summary
Vampire hunters were supposed to track down vampires and kill them, that's what Viago had always taught Vitt de Riva since they had joined the hunters. They certainly weren't supposed to find them and try to talk to them. Or flirt with them for that matter. But Neve Gallus was a different type of vampire and the stories about her far too interesting to be a simple mark.
When the hunter meets the vampire, they find themselves pursuing her for an entirely different reason.

Summary
Everyday life was riddled with distraction, really. Jobs were rarely as straightforward as they seemed - even on this scale, the gods themselves were hurling Blight, dragons, darkspawn - every possible diversion across her path. Even Rook, with her contagious sidelong smirk and a mouth smart enough to rival her own, continued to prove her right.
No - that wasn’t fair. Whittling her down to nothing more than a distraction left a bad taste in her mouth. But the alternative? That left far, far too many unanswered questions.

Summary
Rook is uncharacteristically unyielding when it comes to her name.
She has a quip for everything — including multiple that have already made their new necromancer recruit visibly cringe and, on one occasion, mutter a solemn “Oh, Rook, this is serious!” — but when asked, she replies merely, “Just Rook.”
And she does so every time. “It’s just Rook.”
As a friend, Neve doesn’t care. She meets people with stranger secrets a few times a week in Minrathous, and it’s really none of her business.
As a detective, she’s a little curious. If life were less apocalyptic, this side of her might win, but the gods take precedence now. The mystery fades as their journey continues: once a burning question, soon a forgotten factor.

Her weakness was her problem, not some stranger’s.
Not some random Warden with those big, worried eyes and torn-up robes: those pieces do not add up to a person that lives a painless life, and Neve can’t bear to add another lost cause to the pile.
Another wisp crackles too close, and she flinches.

Summary
Healing potions help with broken bones and big cuts, sure. But after fighting darkspawn (and not getting out of the way when Taash and Davrin told her to) and ending up black and blue, Vic's in need of something a little more relaxing and a little more home-remedy - a good bath with soothing oils borrowed from Emmrich. Nobody ever comes to look for her, she always looks for them, why would this time be any different?

It's become habit, to linger in the study with Neve when the both of them should be asleep. Sometimes Rook reads one of Bellara's serials, or one of Emmrich's books. Sometimes she just watches Neve put the pieces together. And sometimes she wants to talk. Tonight, she wants to talk. About a few things, but mainly women.

Summary
The most interesting cases always come from unknown numbers, this is just a fact of solving crime in Dock Town. Unfortunately for Neve Gallus, Tarquin and Ashur fully took advantage of that fact to set her up on a blind text conversation with someone they think may be good for her. The catch? No asking personal questions - no asking for name, gender, hair color, build, anything that could identify Neve's Unknown. The goal? Get the detective a partner in crime (solving).
Between solving her Unknown case and the one Varric Tethras brought her, Neve's booked and busy. But not so distracted that she doesn't notice the former Dragon that Varric brought with him.
Modern AU with magic. Rated for eventual filth.
