Will’s eyes widen, and once again, the warmth spreads across his cheeks. “W-what?” he stammers, fighting the urge to look over at Mike.
The smirk on Murray’s face only grows, and instead of answering Will’s question, he turns to look at Mike. “Or maybe your love life, Wheeler?” he ponders. “Or I’ve got a better idea… we can kill two birds with one stone and talk about both of you at once!”

“Dude,” Dustin says, sounding kind of horrified but also kind of delirious with elation. “Oh my God, you like him. You like Will. Will. As in, our Will. Our best friend Will.”
“I do not–” Mike tries, even though he’d kind of just admitted to accidentally kissing Will Byers, a little, so maybe that’s an entirely fruitless road to go down.
Listen. No one should ever let Mike make decisions right after he wakes up from a nap, okay? Especially not decisions where Will is concerned. This is so not his fault.

Will blinks. Mike is looking at him with an amused look on his face, wide-eyed and a little pink across the bridge of his nose, and God, okay, Will wants to–
“Um,” he says instead. “Huddling? For warmth?”
“For warmth,” Lucas echoes, and then looks back at Dustin again. “Huddling. For warmth.”
“Like penguins,” Mike offers, and then rests his head on Will’s shoulder like this is supposed to be helping, or something.

Summary
Mike’s hand, which is still brushing Will’s, shifts just slightly, and his pinky finger hooks loosely around Will’s own. Which is a lame, cliche move to get worked up over, probably, except that Will also might be forgetting how to breathe over it. “What if we split up?” he hears himself say, his voice coming out impressively even considering the fact that his heart is making a very valiant effort to beat right through his chest and leap into Mike’s palm, “In pairs, maybe? Mike and I can take the garage.”
“Oh, I’m sure,” Lucas mutters. Will chances a glance at Mike, whose cheeks have turned a dusty shade of pink, and who is gnawing harshly on his lower lip in what appears to be an attempt to press down a smile.Dustin plans a murder mystery party. It goes about as well as you'd expect.

Summary
Mike never wanted Will to be alone, not because he was weak or couldn’t handle himself. Because Mike knew that as long as he was there, he could throw himself between Will and any semblance of danger — self-preservation instincts out the window — and protect the person he needed more than anyone.
Which ended up including protecting Will from Mike’s own heart.

Summary
There was a long moment where Merlin thought he was dreaming. Or having a nightmare. However, it became abundantly clear that he was awake by the simultaneous, gobsmacked looks on all the knight’s faces, and the fact he hadn’t woken up instantly from shock.
“What?” Merlin croaked.
Arthur dropped his arm, arching an eyebrow at him, “I said to pass me my crossbow. Have you gone deaf now as well as stupid?”
“You called Merlin ‘sweetheart’,” Lancelot told him slowly when it seemed like no one else had the courage to speak.

Still off balance, Buck slams his left heel onto the roof, heaving forward to catch the collar of that yellow shirt. And there’s no conscious decision making here. It’s all instinct, and he’s grateful for it. If he’d given his overzealous mind the chance to consider another way, he would have missed his shot. Instead, his arms hurl the boy into the hands of another survivor...
And his right foot misses the edge.
OR
Buck catches Chris before he rolls off the firetruck, and it's him who falls back into the retreating waters of the tsunami. Unconscious and seriously injured, he's unaware that his team has been searching for him, never giving up as the days pass.

He’s barely brought it to his lips when he realizes the entire table is staring at him expectantly. He blinks. “Why’s everyone looking at me?”
“You’re single,” Athena says.

Buck tries to grab hold of anything that might save him, anything that might keep him from barreling towards the ground, but everything that he claws at is falling with him. A weightlessness fills his body as he plummets into the abyss below.
He hears his name being screamed over and over again out of his walkie. There’s nothing he can do.
The last thing he thinks before everything goes dark is just one word, one name.

The 118 attends the emergency at the end of 8x18, but it goes awry when the building collapses, trapping Buck inside. Eddie watches as it all happens and is frantic to get him back.

Eddie leaned down towards Buck, and Buck instinctually put his hand out to rest on Eddie’s side. Eddie’s arms landed on either side of Buck on the couch. And then Eddie was in his space, his lips pressing briefly to Buck’s cheek.
“Thanks, Buck,” Eddie said, still so, so close to Buck. “I’ll see you at home.”
He said goodbye to the rest of the crew, and then he was gone, his boots thunking down the stairs.

“You always glance at both of them but never pick them. Thought I’d make the call for you today. Start your day off with some joy.”
His eyes lingered on Buck. “Always do.”
Or Buck owns a bakery, Eddie gets a little sweet treat every day, and they learn what joy is.

Oh, god, Buck has retrieved his clipboard from wherever in Eddie’s house he’d stashed it last time. He’s waving it around as he speaks.
“Information about my spouse,” Eddie says blankly.
Buck looks confused. He flips through the pages on his clipboard. “No, look, we definitely-”
“Not Shannon,” Eddie interrupts. “My current spouse.”
Buck, understandably, looks even more confused. Then he seems to actually comprehend what Eddie is saying, and he shoots him a devastated look. “You’re- you’re married? When? To whom?”
“I… I didn’t know I was married. I don’t. I don’t think I am? But they seem to think I am. And they think…” Eddie pauses. Wets his lips. “I think… I think they think I’m married to you.”
Buck and Eddie get married the night of Chimney's bachelor party. Buck and Eddie do not know they got married the night of Chimney's birthday party. At least, they don't until months later, when Chris' new school asks Eddie for documentation of his spouse: one Mr. Buck Diaz.
