Summary
Catherine Barnett has a singing voice to match no other, or at least in opinion of her past bully, Butch DeLoria. But being deemed the ice queen of the vault, she'd freeze him out of her life altogether than accept any kind of compliment from him. Not that he really cares what she thinks of him, having long since burned any kind of amicable relationship between them.
But after one fateful night, he gets a glimpse into the icy fortress of her mind, and starts to realize there's more to this story of the two of them than he originally thought. And along with being saddled with confusing feelings, comes the vault drama, a heavy weight of guilt, and eventually the unthinkable day of vault reckoning when the doors are opened.
Growing up in a vault is hard, the wasteland even worse. But as the two learn to navigate their lives in the destroyed ruins in the world around them, they learn a great deal about themselves, and each other.
