Summary
The Lone Wanderer is a figure almost out of the comic books. The hero of the Capitol Wastes, who brought Aqua Pura to the Capitol Wastes. Who is credited with the fall of The Pitt, of Paradise Falls, and the Enclave. They are a mysterious figure rumored to still wander the wastes in their Vault 101 jumpsuit and Tunnel Snakes jacket with a baseball bat resting across their shoulders as they try to find the next group that needs rescuing. The identity of this hero has become something of a secret, partially cultivated and partially because many didn't know that they had passed through their towns to do good until the tales had reached them on the radio.
Only a trusted few know the name of the individual, let alone their face. Because Blair Birmingham is no saint, and they're the first to tell you this. The Minuteman is the last person that anybody would believe was the legendary hero. Crass, nihilistic, and a self-proclaimed bad parent. But once upon a time, she was a bright-eyed girl taking her first steps into the wastes in search of her father. She didn't know what laid before her, she had no way to know who and what she would become, or what she would lose.
And they wouldn't have it any other way.

A rewrite of my original Fallout 3 fanfic “S is for Subtley” part of my “S.P.E.C.I.A.L.” Series following my Lone Wanderer Icarus and Butch DeLoria’s relationship.
Icarus is now a trans man and that plays heavy into the story, this is a much more toxic story this time around and my writing has significantly improved in the last couple of years since I wrote that original one.
Icarus watched a drop of blood falling from his mouth, right onto the white teeth still being shown off.
It was a small, inconspicuous dot of red.
It was so fucking quiet, Icarus's ears wouldn’t stop ringing.
He took in a sharp breath.
“God Butch,” He whispered, feeling his body start to shake with building, hot anger. “Fucking god Butch. You’re stupid,” His brain was in shambles, to be honest. There wasn’t much in his body, but this encompassing hate and that sticky feeling going through his spine. “You’re so fucking stupid, so god damn fucking stupid.”
