Jayce is a complete megafan of the new tv phenomenon, Our Cane. Specifically, he has a very over the top and near-embarrassing obsession with his favourite character and fictional crush, The Machine Herald.
Viktor is the voice actor for The Machine Herald, and when he sees his exact dream hunk at a convention covered head-to-toe in gaudy merchandise for his character, he has a very hard time reminding himself about proper fan-celebrity boundaries.
Jayce, who has no idea who he’s talking to, has no such qualms.

Despite his claims that his actions are no longer dictated by emotion, Viktor is still harboring anger and hatred for his exile in the wake of Jinx's attack, and blames Jayce for what happened.
