    A dip into the thoughts of one resurrected Dick Grayson on resurgent shrouds.

    Dick has been feeling unwell recently. A whole lot of body aches and fevers, common cold stuff, for sure. Tim helps and Alfred is there when things take a turn.

    3. Brothers of Ember and Cinder
    Jason's noticed that things are tense, but he's trying, they all are, and Dick himself isn't in tip top shape. He's there when Dick's ill and things happen. He's shocked and left reeling in the aftermath.

    4. One for sorrow, two for joy
    Dick is unconscious after manifesting his resurgent shroud. Jason, Tim and Alfred struggle to process and prepare for Dr. Thompkins' arrival. Damian checks in on Dick right before the good doctor arrives.

    Dick wakes and comes to the realisation that he's manifested his shroud. There are tears.

    Ellie is Danny and Vlad's daughter. They call Ellie their daughter. Nobody in their family or group of friends question it, as they all know of Ellie's circumstances, don't they? Because of this, neither Danny nor Vlad think twice when referring to Ellie as their daughter. It's never been a problem before.

    It does, however, become a problem when Danny and Vlad refer to Ellie as their daughter in front of the Justice League. Danny, who is a thirty year old trans man and Vlad, who is a sixty year old cis man, and Ellie, who is fifteen.

    Danny hummed to himself, the saccharine melody a stark contrast to the grimy brick walls of the Gotham alley. The sour tang of garbage and ozone from his own fried core warred along with the thick, metallic scent of blood filled the air. His hands slick with something he refused to identify.

    "You look like shit, man." The voice from the helmet was mechanically distorted, but the dry tone was clear. The man’s head tilted. "Can you tell me why you are trying to dress up as a trash can?"

    Danny blinked slowly, the adrenaline high finally, blessedly, beginning to ebb. The pain was becoming a distant, roaring thing. Peaceful, almost.

    He met the blank gaze of the helmet, his own eyes wide and unnervingly calm. "My organs fell out…" he stated, his voice disturbingly even. He gestured weakly with a crimson-coated hand toward the ruin of his midsection. "Don't have skin anymore."
