Summary
The best thing he could do for himself would be to rush out of the café and forget all about it.
Twelve years ago, a chance encounter occurred between one Fukuzawa Yukichi and a fourteen year old Edogawa Ranpo. Their paths crossed, but did not connect. Ranpo was left alone with nowhere to go and nothing to his name, save for the clothes on his back and a measly business card. Or he was, until bumping into none other than Mori Ougai, a back-alley doctor who claimed he could use an apprentice.
Eleven years ago, Fukuzawa Yukuchi intervened and took Yosano Akiko under his wing, preventing her from falling into Mori's custody. Staring back at the cold green eyes of the fifteen year old standing next to Mori, he felt sick. He would not let another lost child slip from his grasp and fall into the Port Mafia's. Continuing to work as a bodyguard, he brought Yosano with him and formed a formidable team that later grew into the Armed Defense Agency, a gifted organization built to help protect and defend the public.

The craziness settled at the same time Dazai leapt from his chair, face glowing in a way that made Kunikida want to send it six feet under.
"Oh my!" Dazai gasped in a far too melodramatic tone of voice. A giggle bubbled to the forefront of his lips as he placed a delicate hand over his mouth, "Oh my, Kunikida-kun. How could you keep such a thing a secret?"
___On a dark and frosty Christmas Eve, cursed mistletoe begin to appear all over Yokohama. Despite being under strict orders to remain inside, the members of the Armed Detective Agency one by one find themselves on the streets of the city. And naturally, underneath these malicious leaves with someone they really had no intention of kissing...ever.

Dazai Osamu was the best wedding planner in all of Yokohama.
Chuuya’s parents knew this, which is why they booked with him barely a second after their son had gotten engaged.
‘So, who’s the lucky guy?’ the taller man asked. ‘I’m trying to get a good picture here so everything will be to both your tastes.’
Chuuya could swear he heard his mother choke on her own spit (oh if only that were true).
‘Excuse me? What makes you think our son would be…would be one of them?’ she exclaimed.
Dazai blinked. Once. Twice. He briefly met eyes with Chuuya, then smiled in that fake manner again. ‘Ah, I am so sorry. Someone must have made a typo when making the files for me. It won’t happen again.’
The problem was that Dazai's assumption had been completely and utterly right.

"I mean - this is - it's real, isn't it? The test, it's not -"
"It is real," Lovecraft responds. His tone is deadpan, low and monotonous as it usually is, and yet... there's a hint of hesitation there, of what sounds almost like embarrassment, that only someone who knows him as intimately as John does catches and is subsequently also caught off guard by.
The thought of is Lovecraft nervous? crosses John's mind for only a second or two, but it's enough. His spouse definitely looks confused, if nothing else, and that's enough to at least make John back-track a bit.or, somehow, lovecraft and steinbeck discover, once again, that eldritch gods are quite simply built different, and sometimes, when whatever force rules the lives of men and gods decides to use you as a guinea pig, you've just got to shrug and say "okay." (or or, lovecraft tells his husband he's pregnant, and steinbeck sees, if only just a little, how important he is to his spouse.)
