“I’m so tired, Crowley,” Aziraphale whispered, “I wish I could sleep like you do.”
Seconds tripped by awkwardly, time warped into minutes.
“You can,” Crowley’s throat was dry, “I mean, I wouldn’t move, if you did.”
For a moment, he prayed. Crowley prayed that the darkness meant something different: for it to be his hand and not the coat Aziraphale gripped so tightly, head on his shoulder to simply rest because it was preferable, that he was with him simply because he wanted to be.
The Lord had not granted Crowley's prayers in a very long time, he thought, if She ever had.

Crowley knows exactly what he wants. Aziraphale pretends not to know what he means, and for sixty centuries, at that. That is, how and when, and even why, does one pose the question, "Will you sleep with me?"

It's 1870 and Loki's barely holding onto his personality. Not that he's weak--weak people don't generally get what they want. Thor is ever his brother's keeper, at least when Loki condescends to play along.

He spoke quickly, almost tripping over his tongue,
“You dragged me back here like a satyr captures a maiden, only he is in his right mind; he knows what he is and why he does. But I can help you. I can help us both, only let me, brother, let me show you who we really are,”
In a moment, he let go. Thor almost had him, had one arm pinned and was ready to ride it out until Loki came to his senses, but they flipped. A hand clasped his neck. Nails dug into his trachea and diverted his attention long enough that he failed to stop what happened next.

Hell needs more interns, Crowley needs to learn where to lie and tell the truth, and the Bentley has never driven this fast through Central London to Aziraphale's bookshop.
"Crowley dashed past his effort to take his coat. Crowley was not wearing a coat. Aziraphale’s hands hung in the air nonetheless, an attempt to understand the cause of the demon’s urgency barely scraping through the gears of his mind. His fr-business partner went straight for the wine, uncorked it with one sleek, black talon, and began downing the bottle in one go."

Crowley and Aziraphale attend Adam's birthday party and the Them conspire to get them alone together. God, Herself, intervenes to make it happen. After all, pleasant cottages in "sensual solitude" don't come out of nowhere, unlike Crowley's confession.

Summary
“I am what was done to Michael Shelley.” It says, shrinking from a mother’s intense eye. Then it hunches inward, sinking to the muddy grass so it may pull its skinny legs to its hollow chest. Michael wishes she would stop looking at it that way.
It wants to tell this man it has no mother, that the son she is looking for is dead, but the person it was born from howls inside its head until Michael cannot bring itself to tell the truth. To become a butterfly, a caterpillar weaves itself a cozy little cocoon to sleep in before its entire body disintegrates and becomes caterpillar soup until that primordial goo shapes itself into a butterfly. The butterfly remembers being a caterpillar, it knows due north and the hand that raised it, but it is not a caterpillar.
Michael feels like it is a misshapen insect, a big ugly cuckoo bird that thinks it's a sparrow, a barn cat raised by dogs so it tries to bark and only hisses.
