Dan thought Phil was an angel for putting up with him. He didn’t know how he got so lucky. Their relationship was the most important thing in the world to him. Unfortunately for Dan, OCD fears tend to latch on to things you care about most, and now it had latched onto Phil.
Except this fear was different from the other fears. Unlike his mother getting stabbed at night or him having a heart attack at the age of 16, this is a fear that had a real possibility of happening. It was the fear of their relationship being exposed. Phan being outed as real.

Efnisien ap Wledig is an omega born into an all-alpha family. Abandoned by his birth mother and raised by his aunt, he is subjected to a lifetime of medical experimentation and brainwashing and believes himself to be an alpha. But the experiments begin to fail, and he is abandoned yet again to an Omega Rehabilitation Facility, where the family expects he will be retrained into the 'perfect omega' and placed in an arranged marriage, or be eliminated if this is no longer possible.
The Facility don't know about the experiments, and Efnisien doesn't even know why he's there in the first place, since he's an alpha...isn't he? One thing's for certain, he definitely doesn't need an alpha companion, no matter what the staff at the facility seem to think.

Summary
Phil Lester is a "Handler" at the Dollhouse, an underground organization that offers their elite clientele access to programmable human "Dolls": real people stripped of their memories and re-coded to become the objects of fantasy or nightmare. Phil's job is to protect his assigned Doll, Delta, from those same clients.
Phil's good at his job, and so is Delta, until someone from the Doll's past life recognizes him in the field. In order to cover it up, the Dollhouse makes an unusual decision: reprogram Delta with his original Personality, at least for a little while.
And so Daniel Howell wakes up. And nothing is how he expected.
