Summary
There’s some facts about Teyvat that are unarguable. Just like how the seven elements dictate the rules of the world, how monsters are a guarantee in the wild, and how Childe is the most stubborn son of a bitch under the sun. Doubly so when it comes to winning the affections of his dear friend and hopeless crush, Zhongli.
If Childe has to capture all of the stars in the Teyvatian sky to have his affections, he will do so. Or in this case, if he has to obliterate an oceanid despite having a hydro vision to impress Zhongli, Childe is very, very willing.
The rules of the universe may be obstinate, but Childe is going to give them a run for their money.

The man in question glances down at his blood-soaked uniform, a seemingly endless amount of injuries marking the fabric and the flesh underneath.
“Oh yeah, I am. Mind telling me where though?”
Zhongli pinches his nose bridge in exasperation.
“To put it frankly, everywhere.”
Childe blinks. “Oh. That actually explains why everything hurts.”
The consultant glances at the sky for a brief moment, looking two seconds away from praying to Rex Lapis.
“My apologies, but that. Is a very...obvious statement. Childe, how did you not notice this?”
The Harbinger shrugs.
“I dunno, I’m just built different.”

The traveler tells Childe that fighting an oceanid despite being a Hydro user is the best way to impress Zhongli.
It’s a joke. Of course it is; they wouldn’t want the Harbinger no matter how annoying he is to get gravely injured.
They just may have underestimated one, no, two things:
One, Childe’s stubbornness, and two, Childe’s desire to impress Zhongli.

“I don’t know,” Yeonjun whispers quietly, like he’s cautious. Unsure. “A little scared, I think.”
“Why?”

Soobin laughs, despite the reality. It’s funny when he thinks about it hard enough. This is the man he married a year ago, fell in love with years before, but he doesn’t remember.

That’s got to be the weirdest looking dog Ajax has ever seen in his life.
At least, Ajax thinks it’s a dog. It’s got scraggly little ginger tufts of fur around the neck and a strip of wild fur running down the spine like a mohawk, ending in more bushy, fluffy fur bits sprouted at the end of the tail. There are also some sort of strange protrusions from its head, like antlers, or maybe tumours? Fuck if Ajax knows, he’s not a medical professional.
But even with his lack of medical knowledge, he knows the dog-thing is in bad shape; it’s so covered in dirt and blood that Ajax can’t even tell what colour it is beneath all that grime.
