Summary

Mira watched Jinu carefully from the couch, lips pressed into a thin line. “So, what’s the real story with you and Rumi? You’ve only known her a few weeks, right?”
A smirk spread across Jinu’s face as he shrugged, acting like it was no big deal. “Yeah, about a month.”
Zoey tilted her head, clearly curious. “You two seem like you’ve got some kind of history. Spill.”
Enjoying the game, he gave a cocky grin. “Simple. She fell first, I fell harder.”
Zoey blinked, confused. “That’s it?"
Folding her arms, Mira scoffed. "Liar."Before elaborating, Rumi strolled in, utterly unimpressed, arms crossed.
“Wrong,” came her flat reply. “He tripped me—I wasn’t paying attention. So I pushed him down a ditch.”
Unfazed, Jinu laughed. “See? Truth.”
A flicker of irritation crossed Mira’s eyes. “And you’re fine with that?”
Glancing at Mira and Zoey, Jinu’s smirk deepened, his voice dropping to a teasing murmur. “Why? You jealous?”
Rumi, oblivious to the tension, just rolled her eyes. “You’re such an ass.”
That grin only widened. “Yeah, but I’m *your* ass.”

“Oh are we?” You tease.
“Yeah!” You can see something shift in her mind as she starts to tense up, “Well. Unless you don’t wanna be friends which I totally get cause we just met and–”
“‘Friends’ is fine. We can be friends.” You interrupt. You can see her visibly relax and let out a sigh of relief.
You guys sit in silence for most of the drive with tiny breaks whenever Zoey says something. Oddly, the silence isn't uncomfortable. It was safe, calm. New.

Summary
Rumi dragged a hand down her face. She hadn’t even meant to hide this.
Not like she’d hidden the patterns. It just hadn’t come up, and she was a private person anyway, and she wasn’t just going to bring it up out of nowhere. Besides, hiding the patterns had made it easy. The hoodies, the bathhouse, the carefully designed costumes…they all worked for more than one thing.
She didn’t want to miss Zoey and Mira anymore. Sure, they’d always have their own things. That was obvious. But she wanted to be part of their lives again. Wanted them to be part of hers.

The voice was rich, leathery, and smooth, a controlled belt from the chest of the woman on stage. Mira imagined she could see the concentration in the woman’s closed eyes and furrowed brow, if the stage lights weren’t hitting her from behind, shrouding her in a golden silhouette.
Every bar was effortless. Every note an odyssey.
Mira looked at Zoey. The girl was just as transfixed. More so than Mira, even. But then, Zoey’s attunement to the Honmoon was much stronger than Mira’s. Zoey often said the Honmoon kind of felt like the Ocean from Moana. Mira had never seen it so she had to take Zoey’s word for it.
The Honmoon rippled.

I've seen so many stories completely villainizing Celine, which I'm totally interested in exploring don't get me wrong, but I also disagree that that's how she is in canon. She's a lot more complex than that, I think. That being said, this ALSO isn't based on canon. This is Celine doing a better job at being the parent Rumi needed.
Also note that the first chapter is a prologue and not really in the style that the rest of the fic will be written in, it's just like that for atmosphere!
