    The angry mer pup stuck in the infirmary that wouldn’t eat. It’s all Techno seemed to hear about these days, the facility and its human inhabitants seemingly growing more vexed for every day that passed without the pup eating.

    Techno didn’t understand the fuss. If the pup wouldn’t eat, and wouldn't bond to any of the adult mers housed in the facility, it would die. That's just nature.

    “One sardine, Techno, that’s all I ask.” Philza begged.

    There’s something to be said about how—not why, how—people choose to love others. Phil was an open book, Technoblade’s love was always subtle but sweet, and Wilbur loved slowly but unabashedly.
    All three of them had no hesitations when it comes to those they care about.
    But Tommy? Tommy’s different. He’s cautious, unsure. Because how is he supposed to know, supposed to love? How can he love when, before, he’s never been loved?
    How can something like this be for someone like him?

    Phil Watson already has two sons by the time Tommy Innit shows up on his doorstep. Tommy knows the chances of him staying aren't great, knows he shouldn't get attached but they make it so hard. It's not fair, can't they just hate him like everyone else?

    Tommy doesn't have powers. He's not supposed to have powers, he's not supposed to get involved with the whole superhero or villain thing, he's not supposed to have a target on his back or secrets or change the world.

    He's not supposed to but one day- one single day- twists everything up when he learns that the Blood God not only knows but cares about him. Thrown into a world he knows almost nothing about, Tommy has to find a way to save his own life, deal with the power he didn't know he had, and rediscover who he is as a person.

    One question, through it all, sustains: will he be able to change the future before it's too late?
