Summary
In Louisiana, a serial killer dubbed “The Grimm Reaper” has murdered three people and left their corpses in twisted versions of fairytales. Jack Crawford sends Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter to follow the case’s leads, and their investigation leads them to the carnival, where an encounter with a mysterious fortune teller leaves Will shaken.
Now, it seems as though her predictions for Will are coming true...and that isn’t exactly great news, considering that they include deceit, death, and a deep, soulmate-like connection with Hannibal that holds the potential to be more destructive than everything else combined.

Will’s mouth felt dry and thick from the wine and his own quivering, nervous desires. He swallowed, a rough sound before he whispered, “I want it now.”
After Hannibal and Will's final dinner together, Will, conflicted and guilt-ridden, gives up control.

Summary
Neither Will nor Hannibal expected the former to come back to therapy, but there Will was, back in that familiar office with Hannibal after their recent conflicts. After Hannibal's manipulation and Will pointing a gun at him. It was an odd connection. One Will didn't think would get any stronger. He thought his anger towards Hannibal would never subside. He thought he'd never have any feelings for Hannibal, but his jealousy at seeing Hannibal and Alana together spoke differently.
Amidst a serial killer case, Will tries to make sense of his emotions, and deal with the uncomfortable love triangle between him, Hannibal, and Alana. He can't deny the truth. He and Hannibal can't stay away from each other for too long. The question is whether their feelings would be enough to bring them closer together, or Will's hostility would get in the way.

After Will's rejection, Hannibal nearly gives himself up to the FBI. Fortunately, Chiyoh talks him out of it. Aspects of the idea had merit, and he's confident there are other ways to bring Will the rest of the way out of his chrysalis.

Will is living by rote in the empty shell of his old life. A visit from Hannibal, a final farewell, doesn't give him the closure he hopes for, and when the Ripper starts killing anew in Arizona, Will can't refuse the call.
