Aerion looked this so called ‘knight’ over, “You don’t look like a knight I’ve ever seen” he sneered. “What are you? Some sort of peasant knight?” he asked looking over Dunk’s less than stellar appearance; taking in the dirt on his clothes and his rope belt. Dunk flushed and looked down “My name is Ser Duncan the Tall, I am but a hedge knight my Prince, I hope to enter this tournament to make a name for myself and in the end pledge my allegiance to a great house who would have me” Aerion laughed cruelly at his response “You do know what this tourney is truly about right hedge knight?”
TLDR: Aerion has been a little shit and in a final act of desperation his parents (Baelor and Maekar) decided that who ever wins the Ashford tourney will also win his hand.

The room smelt of bitter citrus peels, and the tang of salt. Max's nose crinkles at the scent of distress wafting off of the small figure on the bed.
Charles lay curled slightly on his side, knees drawn in, one arm tucked close to his chest. Too thin. Too still. There was a faint crease between his brows even in sleep, like his body didn’t know how to fully let go anymore. His hair looked limp, his eyes sunken. There were bruises visible on his skin, purple and yellow and green.
His other arm is curled protectively around his abdomen.

He’d been terrified when he’d lost track of Kiri in the forest as children; spending an hour frantically searching before she was found high in a tree watching over a family of sparrows. His heart had almost pounded out of his chest the night Tuk was born, nearly a month too early and so, so small. And he would never forget waiting outside of the healers house while Spider struggled to breathe through his first serious asthma attack.
However, despite his familiarity with fear, he had never felt it so strongly as the moment he heard the reaping host call Lo’ak’s name.
