Summary
Cas Novak, who used to be the Seraph of the Seventh Gate on a TV show, crawls into his hotel room with the last of his strength after a ghastly flight. To his horror there's already someone sleeping in the bed. Just as he's turning to sneak back out again the man starts having night terrors. Cas calms him down, realizes he's a con guest like him, and pleads with him to let him at least sleep.
Dean proves to be an interesting guy, as Cas navigates catching feels, while being mocked by Crowley and his own better judgement. -

Summary
Dean Winchester is quietly grieving his life away when an errant toddler appears on his deck. Within a day, he's hopelessly entangled with his new neighbor, Cas, who never thought he'd have to fight for full custody of a child born of his sperm donation to a college friend. Dean drags his lawyer brother, Sam, into the family disaster that has engulfed little Jack and his bio-parent.
Over four short days, they defend Jack, deal with the shock of his mother's death, face down would-be kidnappers, learn to parent the most active and gluttonous toddler in history, and somehow Dean finds time for his first therapy appointment.
additional content info: if the idea of two grown men co-sleeping with a toddler gives you the squick, **do not** read this. Absolutely no sex happens while the child is in the room, and there is no explicit sex in this story. Also if you're not crazy about toddlers this is not the story for you.

Cas Novak writes smut for a living and never gets laid, a commoner situation than you might credit. His new massage therapist comes to his house to work on him, and leaves, all perfectly nominal; then he reappears. Dean's car broke down, he forgot his phone, and the cops have closed the only road back to his apartment for a 'police incident'.
He's stuck at Cas's house. Between Ash, Cas's irascible neighbor/weed dealer, and Cas himself, who is just about the oddest and most pleasant dude Dean's ever met, Dean decides he might as well get and stay high.
Wild and wooly weed wackiness, with nudity, ensues.

Dean's perpetually single and lonely in a crappy apartment in his hometown, with no end in sight to the physical and emotional issues that prevent him from moving forward or fully participating in a life and world that's passing him by. His new roommate's turning out to be a bro. A bro who has a shit-ton of loud gay sex in the bedroom across their hall, but life seems to be progressing and Dean discovers he doesn't have to be alone as he'd thought.

Summary
When Dean finds Castiel standing on the wrong side of the bridge railing in the pouring rain, he takes him home. He finds himself caring for the man as a replacement for his younger brother, but when Cas gradually reveals what led him to contemplate suicide Dean realises that they can't ignore his past, and takes steps to help Cas heal and move on. As Dean becomes more aware of how our pasts can affect us, and as his old trauma resurfaces, he – albeit reluctantly - starts to open up to Cas about his own past. What starts out as a friendship born of loneliness and desperation grows into something more as they are drawn closer to each other over time, and slowly help each other to mend.
(The tags probably make this sound more depressing than it's going to be.)
