"I went to the doctor right after, and he told me I had somethin'. Hyper- uh, hyper somethin'." He fumbles his words, trying to remember the correct term, cursing at himself for not paying more attention when his doctor mentioned it earlier (well, he got the gist of it: he can't see shit). "Either way, it means I have trouble seeing things from up close."
After Ricky speaks, he's met with contemplative silence. But silence nonetheless.
