What if, at age four, Izuku didn't manifest his mother's Telekinesis, or even his father's Fire Breathing, but a Hardening Quirk instead?
It drastically changes the nature of his relationship with Katsuki, for one. It also exacerbates his reckless streak, but fortunately his Quirk does a fairly decent job at keeping him safe from harm.
It does not however, prevent him from getting dragged into (and occasionally causing) one completely absurd situation after another.

“How long?” Izuku asks, unable to decide which part of Katsuki's face he wants to look at. He grabs Katsuki's shirt again. He clenches it once, twice. “Kacchan, how long?”
What is Katsuki supposed to say here? He can't even remember what it was like not to feel this way. Can't remember when it began either, he only knows that it did. At some point it started and it never stopped. It grew and grew until he knew and he knew he shouldn't and Izuku would never, and the only option he had left was to bury it. Bury it and deny it and let it hurt, yet never say it. Not to himself, not to Izuku—not to anyone.
But Katsuki almost died. And Izuku is here, just like he always has been.
So Katsuki closes his eyes and listens, to the sound of Izuku just being, to the breath on Katsuki's face as his hair tickles his forehead. He opens his heavy eyelids and stares into shining green, and he utters: “For a while.”

Silence fell upon the room as Izuku gave him a look he couldn’t quite decipher. “...What are you trying to say?” Izuku finally questioned after several moments, carefully.
Shit.
Katsuki has been pining for years after Izuku. He's softened up a bit, bankrolled a hero suit for the nerd, and gives lectures at UA whenever Izuku requests it. So when what he thought was a dream they shared doesn't pan out like he'd planned, life goes in a direction Katsuki never would've expected.
A story told over five acts which leans heavily into the pain of three characters, with Katsuki's anguish being the focal-point. The happy ending and eventual comfort to the hurt exists for everyone, no matter how bleak things may seem at times, but this story will be gut-wrenching to read most of the chapters. If you aren't at least a bit of a masochist, this fic is probably not for you. You have been warned.
Oh, and the title of the fic is in part inspired by the song Scorpio Rising by Soccer Mommy, and also in part by, well, astrology.

Summary
Sure, he was one of the only heroes who could stand against Riot, one of the only ones who actually gave him a run for his money even though the villain’s quirk mostly rendered his explosions null and void, but that didn’t mean he should be chosen for a goddamn infiltration mission. Katsuki was the best of the best, make no mistake, but even he could admit sending a rookie hero on a high-profile infiltration op was a bad idea, even if it was him.
Katsuki gets sent to infiltrate Blood Riot's empire as a potential new recruit to spy for the Commission.
It goes much, much better than he expected it to.

But it's perfectly platonic, ok!? Besides, he just got Bakugo to be his friend. How could he ever give that up?
Bakugo is still struggling with what happened that night in Kamino. How is he ever going to beat his stupid classmates if he can't even get over some damn bad memories? Kirishima is the only thing keeping him from totally withdrawing, but if he saw how Bakugo truly was then he'd probably never want to be around him again. Kirishima is too heroic to ever want to associate with someone as villainous as him. Bakugo met the one person who's opinion he cares about, so he'd rather keep it all to himself than drive away that stupid, ray of sunshine with the gorgeous shark smile. So he can't know. And he won't, if Bakugo can help it.
