“Are you two trying to bone Luffy?” Nami asks, two nights later around a late game of poker.
“Yeah,” they chorus, sat by dim lamplight, crumpled bills, lingering crumbs of a rich chocolate cake, and utter failure. Spoiler alert: it doesn't stay a failure.
Or, Zoro and Sanji get the hairbrained idea to get Luffy in on the action. This succeeds, eventually. Perhaps a little bit too well.

Wade’s noticed a few things about Logan ‘worst Wolverine,’ kidnapee-turned-boyfriend Howlett over the last few months. First of all, Logan smells him. Like, a lot. Even for a kink. Second of all, the Wolverine might be a little bit too wolverine-y, if you catch his drift. And third of all, Wade is a guy who reads way too much fanfiction to miss signs as juicy as these.
He's getting to the fucking bottom of it if it takes a shovel or a dildo. He's not picky.
Or, Logan 'Worst Wolverine' Howlett's universe is uh, different. One could say. Accidental A/B/O in my smutfic? Damn straight.

He first meets Nico Robin when he’s nine years old. Give or take a decade, a couple murders, a handful of heists, and suddenly he’s nineteen being ratted out by her on some tiny ship surrounded by the world’s worst pirates. In their defense, maybe they suck at kidnapping princesses or pillaging nations, they’re kind of great revolutionaries. Sanji’s not sure how he feels about that.
Or, Reiju never frees Sanji from Germa, so he claws his own way up.

“Your taste is shit! Absolute shit-” Yuuji cries.
“At least I have taste-!” She wishes she stayed in the dorms.
“Be quiet!” Inumaki-senpai finally shrieks, the powerful wash of his voice flaring around the car’s tiny space like a gong. Immediately, the idiots both choke, words forcibly cut off as their vocal chords silence.

“Fushiguro, right?” The taller one says, hands settling on his knees as he lowers into a crouch. “Megumi and Tsumiki?” He smiles as he says their names, glossy lips as bright as his eerie blue eyes in the warmer light of the late afternoon, familiar and fond.
Almost, Megumi wonders, as if he knows them.
Or: There are consequences to time travel. In this case, they turn out to be good ones.

“It’s not garbage, you illiterate pig,” Suguru snarks back, out of his traditional wear for once when it’s a stifling sort of humid out.
Suguru has an ongoing romance with MCR. It precedes Satoru, and then it outlasts him.

“Satoru?” The word rings, fuzzy in his ears as it whines like tinnitus, familiar and heart stopping.
‘I’m dead.’ He can’t even hear his own thoughts over the loudness of the world, staggering where he stands, eyes still fixated on the sky, on the sun. ‘I’m dead, I died, I felt my heart stop, this can’t be, it can’t-’
“Hey,” it comes again, a little more urgent than before, a little closer, another hammer to his ears and all the noise shrieking behind his eyes. He recoils hard enough to go stumbling as a hand reaches for him, covered in flesh rather than empty bone, tan and recognizable. Unbelievable.
There’s something wet trickling from his nose. Bile stings on the back of his tongue. The words dissolve into the rest of the white noise as he stares up at the blue of the sky, and tries to remember if he’d ever had a hallucination as bright as this.
‘I have to be dead,’ he thinks. Somehow, he isn’t.
Or: Gojo Satoru goes back in time. He makes a couple of changes for the better.

Truth be told, he doesn’t remember much of it.
It’s all a little blurry, fuzzy around the edges and dulled under sharp, inarticulate pain. A familiar palm gripped tight under his chin, a smooth voice murmuring, “isn’t it marvelous, Satoru?” The weight of his head, like lead sinking below the waves of the ocean.
A flash of orange is what ends it all.
‘Megumi’s been quiet,’ he thinks, refusing to open his eyes, not entirely surprised that he has been when he only got back two days ago. It must be a shock, Satoru’s mused more than once in the hours since, to return to the wreck he is. He can’t blame him for it.

I’d go to visit him all the time, and I’d bring flowers and nice stuff to cheer him up, and he’d just yell at me to, ‘get gone, boy! Quit bringing me shit and go and do something worthwhile!’”
“I’m not ashamed of you,” he admits, small, timid, and knows Satoru doesn’t believe him one bit by the way his face does something complicated. A smile, a grimace, a wince.
“Of course not,” he says, and it sounds just as unsteady as Megumi feels.
Sometimes, he hates himself.

When he first meets him, a curse stuffed down his throat by his own doing and a malevolence brewing in his belly that isn’t his own, Yuuji doesn’t know what to think of Gojo Satoru.
He can't decide whether the guy is a delightful asshole in name and face, or a subtly distant person that measures up when he's needed. It's confusing, and more than a little difficult to figure out in between the chaos of learning how to be a sorcerer; learning how to live with his new skin-deep friends; learning that maybe, his truth isn't much more than a hollow one.
In learning that his odd teacher is just another one of them, just as wordless in anything that matters, and just as human when it counts. There's a person below that blindfold, and it's as surprising as it isn't to twist along in the maze, until he learns enough to find him.

“...How on earth would you even know? How are you so sure?” Suguru asked, tugging in a nervous gesture at the duvet like he didn’t realize he was, and Satoru only shrugged, chewing on the inside of his cheek.
“I don’t, really,” he mumbled, looking down. “It’s kind of selfish, honestly,” he huffed, the not-quite laugh more melancholic than it wasn't.
(They were soulmates, Satoru had said since forever about a boy he knew more than he didn't, but who didn't know him. Whether it was his own selfishness, or childish fear of abandonment of a person that didn’t really exist, was something he liked to never think about.)
