Summary
The Salesman doesn't die when he shoots himself because the bullet didn't hit a vital part of his brain, he only becomes unconscious and severely injured but he recovers, and only his memory is affected. He is then placed in the games, where he interacts with Gi-Hun and the other players without remembering who he was, at least not at first.

"Of course… Of course, Mr. Seong!" Woo-Seok nodded frantically. "We used to have some places to… deal… with debtors. it could work."

You are the assistant Nurse, hoping to gain experience on the job. Keyword assistant, not Intern. You don't do much assisting, though, as Anya covers pretty much all the medical needs. This leaves you with all the janitorial chores around the ship. The consequence of this position is cleaning up every mess that Daisuke makes. Even if it was an accident, it's annoying regardless. He's annoying. But he's the only one that gets you.
