“You’re like three assignments behind in one of your classes,” Remus reminded him gently. “You should be opening a textbook too.”
“McGonagall isn't here to save our asses,” Peter laughed, sinking back into the armchair.
“Such a shame,” Sirius said, shaking his head before reluctantly grabbing his own study supplies. “You guys still coming tomorrow? To Reggie's dance thing?”
“Of course,” Remus replied, smiling softly. “We wouldn't miss it for the world.”

James Potter is 99.99% sure he is going to regret everything that's ever led up to this. But what kind of friend would he be if he didn't support everyone else's delusions?

Summary
Regulus is a weatherman, a job which he is incredibly overqualified for. He is more or less content with his life, until Pandora asks him to go storm chasing again for the first time in years. Despite the fact that those storms, that he once studied and admired, have taken everything from him (and against his better judgement) Regulus agrees to go back to his hometown in Oklahoma.
It's just his luck that James Potter shows up to chase those exact same tornadoes. It's only exacerbated by the fact that Regulus' estranged older brother is there with James. Regulus can't seem to stop running into them, and he's not sure whether he's infuriated or infatuated with it all.

In an alternate universe Regulus Black is inspired to become a hero, helping him emerge from the cave victorious and with a dangerous horcrux hunt on his mind. He quickly learns he will not accomplish this on his own and search for help through his old friends and begrudgingly the marauders themselves

Summary
So when Regulus gets paired with James for a drama assignment, he feels like he wants to melt into the ground and die and never come back to life. Because what are the fucking odds that out of everybody in their entire fucking class, they get paired together. So now, he has to deal with him more than he already does at home.
Regulus decides that he wants to perish slowly.
