A calm and quiet night at Angel's Share, everyone had gone home and Diluc is left cleaning up for the night, he silently clean the glasses shared between the drunkards until he gets a familiar feeling that he isn't alone.
He would normally give a snide remark to Venti that the tavern was closed and that he needed to leave, but tonight something didn't seem right with the bard. Being the way used wine glasses were discarded on the table in front of him, or the fact Venti had his knees to his chest as he mumbled incoherent words, cradling himself unsteadily.
...
Venti has drunk way to much for his tab, yet he could not hold a single care as his eyes cloud over with the ghosts of those long gone.

Slowly, the Bard kneels right in front of him, and Venti suddenly feels the guilt building up in his stomach when he realises how similar they both must’ve looked right now.
“Venti?” the Bard calls, looking at him hopefully. “Is that you?”
Venti has never intended to take the form of his friend. Though, maybe he likes being in a mortal body when he realises that there are some things he can do that his wisp body can't.

"Little friend!" He hears a familiar voice call out, and he freezes, "Why do you seem so down?" The voice continues, so painstakingly familiar. Venti glances at the direction of the voice and stiffens, because there Carmen is, with outstretched hands reminiscent of his statue in front of the church in Mondstadt. "We will be free soon, and we will be able to see the sky and the world beyond," Carmen continued, "There is no reason to be so glum."
Oh, Venti realizes, I am here again.

Summary
King Arthur sets out to keep his promise to the spirit of the Druid boy by repealing his father's ban on magic. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done, for reasons including but not limited to the following:
(1) He can't change the law until he understands magic better, but no sorcerer is willing to explain magic to him until he changes the law;
(2) The sorcerers all have some strange obsession with Merlin, which is awakening all sorts of feelings in Arthur that he really doesn't fancy examining too closely;
(3) He is starting to feel like the butt of some Druid-population-wide inside joke involving the mysterious phenomenon called Emrys; and
(4) Oh yeah, Morgana is still trying to kill him.
Thus he embarks on a journey of discovery, diplomacy, accountability, and self-improvement, and maybe even falls in love along the way.
