If he woke up fully he knew they would have to return to their responsibilities; he would have to remove himself from the warmth of his sister’s body and from the gentle touches of her hands. So instead he decided to allow himself this moment, to linger in this moment between sleep and waking, humming contentedly against Malenia’s thigh.

Summary
Cosmic forces grappling the upper part of her body forces the hunter down to her knees. Her brain swells and pulsates to the rhythm of an ancient god’s heartbeat, her own heart struggling against the imprisoning encapsulation of the pericardium to break free of mortal confinements. She tugs at the cloth at her chest in some meagre attempt to relieve her body’s recoiling of its fleshy form, but no amount of that or tearing at the skin of her scalp will ever grant her peace.
Many of her muscles that have tensed to the intrusion release as the unseen creature exhales, allowing her body to collapse onto the overgrown walkway and let the chill surface of limestone cool her burning cheeks. But for all the relief that comes with release, her time in imprisonment has not ended. The Great One’s heart beats not only in her brain but around her as well, impossibly echoing from still deep beneath her. Even her breaths turn shallow, mocking the beats’ rhythm to the detriment of her air supply.
A scholar aiding the Choir discovers a Great One with a cruel sense of humor.

Mohg had never once announced his arrival, did not believe in privacy given the fact that he had declared himself Miquella's "consort". So if the person at the door had the courtesy to knock it meant it was anyone else, and if it was any other than Mohg, Miquella might be able to use them. To sway them to his will.
