With no other choice, Amphoreus’ deliverer is reduced to nothing but a beggar. In his mind, he pleads to the Titans— to anyone or anything that’s listening. He begs Oronyx for a single shred of sympathy. Phainon prays to Kephale for a sliver of mercy, just this once. Strife is far from what Phainon is familiar with, yet he begs Nikador to look upon Mydeimos’ endless valor and grant him a gentle ending.
To Thanatos himself, he prays that if this journey to death must be taken, then let the currents of the River of Souls be kind and gentle to Mydeimos and carry him to eternal rest.
Let his final death be peaceful, at least.
Mydei dies by Khaslana's hands, and Phainon is left to grieve.

“That’s because you’re a terrible teacher,” Phainon says, petulance in his voice thin over affection.
Only then does Mydei fully turn to his side to face him, eyeing the way the dim light seems to catch the silver of Phainon’s hair. He reaches over without thinking. “Like this,” he mutters, thumb pressing against Phainon’s bottom lip to force the correct shape. “Your tongue here,” his touch lingers. “And don’t enunciate the last syllable too much.”
Or, when Phainon asked Mydei to teach him the Kremnoan language, he expected refusal. Much to his surprise, Mydei agrees. But as the words come easier, so does everything else Phainon was never supposed to understand.

His ‘rewards’, if something so depraved can even be called as such, are something genuinely tangible, and, as ashamed as Illuga is to say it… useful. Any soothing teas or appreciation gifts haven’t quelled his mind nearly as much as Lohen’s body.

⋮ ⌗ ┆Pantalone cuts off Dottore from his funds as punishment, leaving Dottore with no room for any more experiments; which could technically get him moved down in Harbinger ranking. He explains that Dottore only needed him for funds, and now they have no obligation to see each other anymore… but they both know there was something beyond just ‘funds’. And it seems Dottore has to either be stubborn and independent about it or actually try to convince Pantalone to take him back in.
