Eddie felt tears pricking at his eyes, felt his throat tighten. He looked down at the table.
“Eddie?” Bobby prompted.
A tear fell down Eddie’s cheek. “We were getting married.” He said lamely, voice cracking.

Summary
Tommy was not a jealous person, but he was also not a blind person. He knew how close Evan and Eddie were. And that was without bringing the Christopher of it all into the mix. Tommy genuinely liked the kid and Christopher was always excited to see him, too. But Evan? Evan was basically that kid’s second father. Following that line of thinking this made Eddie what? Evan’s ex-husband? Except Eddie and Evan had never been an item in the first place. And that, Tommy thought, might be the precise hurdle his mind stumbled over. Because Eddie and Evan weren’t separated exes with a firmly drawn line at the end of their run and Tommy couldn’t help but wonder.
Or: Chimney makes an offhanded comment which leads Tommy to question what exactly Eddie and Evan are to each other and where he fits into the picture. Evan is happy to talk him through it.

Summary
Based on the tumblr prompt: Chris is walking down a hallway in school when he sees one of his male teachers in an appalling argument with his husband. The husband hits the teachers repeatedly before bending him over a desk. Chris runs before he sees anything else. The next day Chris doesn't want to go to school so Eddie takes him to Buck who is off. Buck immediately knows somethings not right, so he gently gets Chris to tell him. Buck barely keeps it together as he calls Eddie and asks him to bring everyone quick.

Scratch that—Buck’s never been a parent, period, and as much as he would really like to be one, it’s … a work in progress. He’s still stuck on the blank screen, actually, cursor blinking accusingly at him with each and every failed relationship. It’s fine, though; he has his friends, he has Maddie, and he has twenty-seven adorable and sarcastic fifth graders that fill his heart and life.
And he might—maybe—have a crush. The tiniest one, really. Hardly worth mentioning.

Even if it was his job and he had no way of knowing Buck was in the tree, it still felt like fate that Eddie was the one who rescued him.
“My, nigh’ in’ armour,” Buck slurs out. “‘Lways saven me.”
“I’d always save you, Buck,” Eddie whispers honestly, his hand coming up to cup the back of Buck’s neck and redirects his head so their eyes are meeting.
“Always.”

A fine tremor had settled into Buck’s hands, working up his arms into his shoulders, and Bobby couldn’t help but feel like he was watching Buck splinter in front of him.

“Did you know if you put a frog in water and slowly bring it to boiling, it won’t hop out?” Chris is chattering as Buck makes a quick dinner while Eddie argues with his gas company on the phone. He can hear the occasional swear word in Spanish as his voice raises. Eddie doesn’t like to raise his voice around Christopher – the very thought makes Buck want to kiss him full on the mouth – so he decided to take it to the living room while Chris sits with his homework in the kitchen and Buck cooks.
“Hmm?” Buck asks, unable to fully pull himself out of Bobby’s baked mac and cheese recipe. It took him years, but he finally convinced the man to write it down. Bobby’s handwriting was juvenile at best on a good day, but this was nearly unreadable. Buck wonders if he did that on purpose. “Frogs?”
“Yeah!” Chris states. “My teacher said that if you put a frog in a pot, you have to make sure it’s not immediately boiling. You put them in water and then slowly raise the temperature and they won’t realize what’s happening. Then once they realize, they have no place to go. They can’t jump out.”
