Because it’d be a dumb idea she did with him. Someone who means so much to her. Someone she’s stupidly attached to after less than a year of knowing him. Ethan Hunt may be the one that lights the fire in you but it’s Benji Dunn who keeps it burning.
Or, I wanted to write a fic about Paris and Benji getting matching tattoos but it became more a Paris character study about finding your people and feeling undeserving of it with some light paris/grace undertones. And background benthan, always. And Degas is there too. They're family, trust me on this.

“Monsieur Chief Justice,” Wriothesley says, not sure if he wants to laugh or walk straight into the sea. “Are you unfamiliar with floriography?”
Returning to his dockets, Neuvillette says, “I understand it is a passing trend among the young people of Fontaine, but I have never given it much of my own regard.”
Wriothesley chokes. Half of Fontainian society communicates via the unspoken language of flowers, using bouquets to augment or even subvert their messages. “I wouldn’t call it a passing trend,” Wriothesley manages, strangled.
Wriothesley teaches Neuvillette the subtle political art of floriography, and Neuvillette takes the opportunity to communicate more privately with the Duke.

He pulls back and pushes up his aviators with his middle finger—Maverick can’t tell if it’s intentional or not, but his own hand twitches with the temptation of mirroring him—and rakes his eyes up and down Maverick’s figure, his smirk wobbling, threatening to widen.
“...What?” Maverick asks, dumbfounded.
[Maverick and Iceman agree to meet, but somewhere along the ride a surprise factor has joined them.]

The judge can't think of anything that could hurt that man. He hurts things with his fists and his cryo and his mouth – "I don’t want you to come here anymore," it echoes inside his head, dragging thorns along the tangents of his heart.
Wriothesley is hospitalized, and a worried Neuvillette struggles with their current circumstances.

Summary
Wriothesley walks in before the Iudex is able to hide or come up with any sort of contingency plan – he just freezes on his desk, eyes wide on the approaching form of the curious Duke. The man briefly looks around – no doubt searching for him – before locking his gaze on the otter. “Hello there, my good sir,” he greets, hands on his knees to reach Neuvillette’s height, “Would you happen to know Monsieur Neuvillette's whereabouts?”
Oh, precious Duke; otters cannot speak human language.
Alternatively, as translated by his otterly ludicrous vocal chords: “Kyu.”
Neuvillette humbly wishes upon a star for a single day of peace. He gets taken in by Duke Wriothesley as an otter instead.
