Buck gets a little antsy and decides to send a dick picture to Leo and clicks the last message he received, which was Eddie. Buck attached the picture without looking at who was receiving the picture. A few moments later, they both hear the ding of a text message. Buck’s eyes went wide, and he looked down at the phone in his hands. Eddie Diaz at the top of the message, image delivered, then read.
Eddie opens his phone, his brown eyes wide, as Buck internally panics at the idea of his best friend getting the picture. “What the hell, man?” Eddie asked, confused.
Let me go jump off a really tall something.
“What?” Buck decided to play stupid because he knew Eddie had just received the message instead of Leo.
Well Eddie knows what my dick looks like?
“Look who you sent that message to.” Eddie stared at him. Eddie’s face was flushing red from both the booze and maybe embarrassment at seeing his best friend’s dick and stomach.

“I’m glad you’re here,” Athena said as she slowly pulled back. “I have something important for you.” Before Buck could respond, she was already making her way over to the living room couch and taking a seat, watching him and clearly waiting for him to take a seat on the opposite end of the couch.
“What’s going on?” He laughed nervously as he sat, running his hands up and down his pants legs. Athena only sighed and looked down for a moment. “Come on, you’re– you’re starting to scare me here.”
Finally, she pulled out a white envelope with Buck’s name scrawled on the front and held it out to him. It took Buck a moment to realize why the writing looked familiar; Bobby. It was in Bobby’s handwriting. Buck’s hands nearly started to shake as he took the offering.
“He had a letter for each of you, you and Harry and May. In case anything ever happened,” Athena explained. “I had forgotten about them in the mess of everything until I was going through the drawers earlier today.”OR
Bobby wrote a letter for Buck in the case of his death. It kind of changes everything.

Despite that, everyone seemed to be settling into this new normal like things were going to be okay.
They weren't. They couldn't be.
Buck sighed softly through his nose and swallowed another mouthful of the shitty vodka, pulling a face at the taste. He didn't care, though. The goal wasn't to have a good time, the goal was to shut his mind up and be able to sleep without dreaming. Sleep had been unbearable since the lab. Some nights, it was nightmares and losing Bobby all over again, or the entire team. But worse were the good dreams, the memories of his found family before it was broken.
Almost three months ago, he'd gone for drinks after a shift with Ravi to celebrate a good save. That night was the first decent sleep he'd had in a long time. No dreams. Plus, those few hours of being drunk had felt good in a way not much else had lately. Over time, the habit of just a couple shots to get to sleep had progressed to Buck getting fairly drunk a few days a week.
OR
Bobby's dead and Buck finds himself searching for peace at the bottom of bottles of liquor.

Summary
Eddie traced the “LAFD” on the front of Buck’s shirt, these letters differing from the ones on the back, just three colors across. Pink, purple, and blue to match the small face painted flag on Buck’s cheek that was spritzed with glitter. He already had his own shirt on, matching Buck’s but with the word “ALLY” printed across his chest instead, in a bright yellow hue. Most of the other members of the 118 had the same one as him, but a few with different pride flags spotted their group, like Hen’s in the colors of the lesbian flag.
Eddie wished he had one with a gradient of color across the front.
But he hadn’t told Hen that when she was making them, hadn’t told anyone that maybe he was a little bit more than just an ally. And here he was, celebrating Pride, while not being very, well, proud about it.
