Summary
Evan “Buck” Buckley was not an honest person as much as he would like to be or even was trying to be in his own way. His dishonesty wasn’t malicious in the slightest though. He had his reasons, of course, but his entire identity was built on a shaky Jenga tower of lies. As much as he built it up, one by one the blocks were still removed over the years making the tower less and less stable.
Buck joined the 118 fresh out of the Navy and braced himself for all the questions that were about to come his way which he did not want to answer. Then, like a gift from above, somehow and shockingly, no one had read his resume, and he found he could start all over again, be a new person, someone completely different or maybe who he was supposed to be all along.

Summary

The world speculates about who this secret ex-boyfriend may be, while Regulus struggles not to make eye contact with James Potter from across the room while he rehashes the pain of their relationship in song form. The title hits a little too close to home for the both of them, and the fame of the album sends them both spiraling, possibly back into each other's arms.

The Black Apothecary lies just on the border of Hogsmeade. Wizards and witches near and far come to stock their potions from Regulus’ shop. And business is good.
At the start of a new term, professors stop in for their needs, his brother and Remus included. But it’s an almost forgotten familiar face made new that makes today special, when a grown James Potter comes into the shop requesting something rather unusual. A potion to calm his heart and head. A request James would very much like to keep between the two of them. A business proposal. A secret.
As Regulus tries different iterations of the potion James requested, the two start to grow close through session after session of failed potions with strange effects. Regulus starts to fear the potion James needs is an impossible task, and that he will fail his new friend in his promise to help him.
Or, Regulus and James try a bunch of weird potions and fall in love in the process.

Ahhhh, omg this was so cute and fluffy. Potion master Regulus and professor James, as well as a little bit of professor regulus for when remus is off on full moons. Adore there dynamic with the potions for James, there is a bit of internalised homophonia trauma dumps but they aren't to dragged out. Perfect fic to get me out of a reading slump.

The story switches POVs a lot but the characters are developed really well but it can be frustrating when it changes to a side character. Kill your darlings as you say. Ships are great, love the Jegulus in this, they are a bit on and off but best characterisation of rosekiller love them.

The team discover an Instagram account based on what the public has overheard from their calls. Hen and Chim become amateur detectives in their quest to uncover the the context of every quote, but this becomes difficult when it's increasingly clear they've been left in the dark about something.
Based on the account @Overheard_LA and me deciding with all the insane things that the 118 say on calls, someone should be recording them for posterity.

Absolutely loved it, I love this plot of Teacher Regulus and Dad James. They are so cute I swear and the wands, they are so inlove. The characterisation is spot on as always and the banter. Also, regulus solar system - moving tattoo, it needs to be draw! I feel my imagination is not doing it justice.

"It’s two months after – Thom has spent more time inside his new building than he has in his bedroom apartment but this is exactly why he bought a comfortable sofa for his office – when a bouquet of flowers is hand-delivered to him.
It’s enormous, the man who delivers it to him can barely see through it. Thom has no vase big enough to put it in and ends up leaving it on the sink of his private bathroom, because simply laying it on the desk seems like it would ruin the flowers.
There’s a card and Thom smiles as he picks it up; it’s honestly a toss-up who the bouquet is from. He can imagine Loraine’s perfect calligraphy staring back at it, but it sounds exactly like something Simon or Klaus would do too. Walter would send some rum, though.

Its probably the happiest fic I've ever read. It was so fluffy and had so many moments that had me giggling and kicking my feet. I think this fic is such a cheer me up fic. It's perfect with some angst but way more fluff. I think I have been persuaded to read more modern, high-school Au's. Also, it's a perfect popular jock meets shy artist trope.

It's so bittersweet. I will remember this fic for a long time. The journey it took me on was clearly created from a heart full of imagination. The stripper Au getting with client and oh wait the client knows my estranged long lost brother. The angst was next level but don't forget that Happy Ever After tag. Just filled a need I didn't know I had.
Do be mindful of the explicit use of drugs in a few chapters, not bad but it will be a bit of a roller coaster.
