Cole is taken in by the finders, nursed back to health, and given a real stable home for the first time in forever. He knows it's only temporary and he needs to stay focused on leaving and getting back to his real family, the ninja, but there's something about these new strangers, Geo in particular, that keeps him wanting to stay longer.
This is going to be a semi canon compliant fic about Cole being rescued by the finders and all the events that take place afterwards. It is a Geode shipping fic with a side of found family and a tiny mention of past Cole/Kai.

Stuck in Northern Ninjago and moving from village to village looking for Wu, Jay and Cole have their own demons they're battling. Cole is concerned about the weight he's gained since Wu's disappearance, feeling like he's gone soft and his body isn't the temple it should be. Jay is trying to hide the freckles and scars that litter his body, but makeup is really hard to come by out here.
They're also fighting the deep attraction they feel for each other...
Though, one snowed-in night in an abandoned hunting cabin alone with each other is all it takes for several truths to come out.

Zane is thrilled to see Cole again, he really, truly is. He just wishes, for his brother's sake, that the current version of "Zane" was still the person Cole came to rescue. He's not; he can't be. He wishes Cole would understand that.
AKA: At one point in season 4, Zane says "I am just a replica" and that absolutely sent me. Contains lots of internal monologue where Zane believes he is no longer himself, and a conversation between Zane and Cole that only upsets both of them.
