Summary
Lu Ten is born into light.
The blinding rays of the noon-day sun caressed his smooth face the moment the midwife caught him, cradling his slight body in her wrinkled hands. At noon the sun is at its most potent. An heir born under such strength would surely embody that power.
In recent years, when he recalls receiving the letter that announced his son’s birth, Iroh has thought that the sun may be most potent at noon, but it is also the moment at which it begins to decline.

Iroh goes from favored crown prince and celebrated general to exiled ex-crown prince and retired general. Becoming a better person is a process, and it came at a price. Iroh tries to make sense of loss and save his nephew.

Summary
In an age when every known Southern waterbender has been taken prisoner by the Fire Nation, a storm at sea forces the crown prince to rely on a waterbender who isn't from the north or the south.
Iroh learns to freedive, which will be useful to his nephew in 40 years, and fails entirely to learn the location of the Foggy Swamp Water Tribe, or that imperialism is bad (yet).
An Iroh backstory fic taking place 60 years into the Hundred Year's War. Mysteries to be solved include: how Zuko knew how to freedive into the Northern Water Tribe. How Iroh learned how to sail out of it. The invention of lightning redirection. How the hunt for the Last Dragon went down. What the worst possible combination of two animals could be.
The show wasn't interested in what fully trained adult women waterbenders from the Foggy Swamp might be getting up to in the world, but I am so I did OCs about it.

In this alternate universe, inspired by the Disney version of "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" as well as elements from the book, musical, and movie adaptations, Claude Frollo, the cruel ecclesiastical judge, was transformed into a vampire a few months before killing Quasimodo's mother. This is not a story of villain redemption through love. As the story unfolds, the lines between monster and man become blurred. It's important to note that this story is not historically accurate. (Lots of fluffy before gore and smut and horror gore)
