Summary
Ryland Grace attends Petrova University with his roommates Rocky and Adrian. Brilliant yet clumsy, he finds that his circle of friends is too small — so small that he can’t even find a partner for his class project.
Simon Fleischer goes through the motions as he attends the same university. He’s been alone so long he doesn’t find friends necessary, especially since everyone assumes him to be violent because of his appearance. But still, he needs a partner for his psych project.
After crossing paths at a house party, the pair decide to work together. Simon fails to show up to their work session, returning to class days later acting strangely.
Forced onto a road of blood and isolation, Simon fights to keep his humanity and his secret. His new vampire lifestyle forces him to confront the old pain he’s been avoiding for years.
Oblivious to his struggles, Grace wants to get closer to him. Maybe because that pain is so familiar. Or maybe it goes deeper than that.
Can Simon resist the temptation to tear into flesh?
Can Ryland solve the puzzle that is Simon?

Grace has been on Erid for four years; it’s been a very peaceful time for hIm, and he’s adapted wonderfully. he has his regular classes with the peebles and a very comfortable place to live. Earth even sends him a space probe loaded with food, clothing, and other basic necessities as a way of thanking him for saving them.
Life in erid is good.
Until a second space probe arrives.

Summary
Somehow, in some twisted, unbelievable turn of events, the fate of the entire planet, billions upon billions of people, had fallen on Ryland Grace's shoulders. It was a burden he wasn't fit to carry. A burden that he could feel in all its massiveness weighing down on his chest, squeezing his lungs until all he could eke out of them where wheezing, barely-there breaths.
He pressed his forehead harder against his knees and curled his fingers tight around some of the fabric of his pants, his knuckles turning white. He couldn't—this wasn't how it was supposed to—
His life—his kids—
Simon.
Or Ryland Grace is a middle school teacher turned lead astrophage scientist. Simon Fischer is a convict turned engineering specialist. Surely absolutely nothing could go wrong on a cosmic scale because neither of them are astronauts.

Summary
Grace's tongue nervously licks the front of his teeth. He taps at his door frame, waiting, searching for another sign— but Simon remains, seemingly settled on the idea that Grace will give, first.
Grace inhales sharply, selfishly, like he's stealing something from Simon. But his heart, too, is a fickle thing, so as much as he wants to prolong his lonely mornings, he doesn’t find it in himself to shut the door on Simon.
Or, an introspective character study on Grace and murdering one's desires. The interconnected narrative of white individualism, ego, and love for thy neighbour.

“Yeah. Nothing beats cuddles, if you ask me,” Grace said, trying to lighten the mood.
Simon’s frown only deepened. “I wouldn’t really know.”
Grace’s smile dropped. He fidgeted with his glasses, an idea already forming, but no. No, that’s a lot to ask. Too much. They’re barely friends. More like roommates of pure circumstance who mostly get along.
But what if…?
“Would you…” Grace started. Stopped. Tried again. “This is like, totally no pressure, and you can say no. But, uh, if you wanted to, we could, um—”
“Spit it out, man,” Simon said, not unkindly, if a little annoyed.
“Wouldyouwanttotrycuddlingwithme?”
Simon blinked. “What?”
Or... against all the odds, Simon finds himself in Ryland Grace's universe. This is how they find home.
