What if there were no mass effect relays?
What if the species of the galaxy hadn’t met yet?(This story is a Shepard and Garrus version of Project Hail Mary with a few changes, twists, and romance. If you haven’t read the book or watched the movie, this does contain spoilers.)
Shepard is on a mission to stop Astrophage from dimming Earth’s sun, and for that she needs to investigate a sun that was not infected by the Astrophage- Tau Ceti. Her crew did not survive their medically induced comas for the 4 year trip there. Leaving her in an unknown part of space to save Earth alone.. or so she thought.
Garrus was here for the same thing, to stop the Astrophage from dimming Palaven’s sun. He never thought in a million years he’d be making first contact with an alien race.

Garrus had planned it – it was perfect. They served dextro and amino friendly foods, he had managed to sweet talk his way to the front of the substantial wait list for Shepard (okay name dropping Shepard), and no one was going to bother them.
Turns out someone did bother Shepard, and Shepard? Well…there was a Shepard shaped hole in the floor and a minor water leak. Very minor.
Now Garrus must plan another date night for Shepard but they seem to be on the tail on some shenanigans involving a krogan, a flaming C-Sec cop car, and a noodle incident....

The Solver has completely possessed Cyn and is actively trying to do the same to Uzi. Tessa is here to accompany the main cast and figure out how to exorcize Uzi without a Crucifix Patch. Uzi keeps blacking out from the Solver's sporadic attempts to control her and isn't sure why she keeps trying to attack Tessa in her Solver crazes. When another attack causes her to draw blood from Tessa, Uzi responds strangely and goes passive. The gears in Tessa's head begin to turn.
