That voice. So warm and so familiar. Deliriously easy to recognise after an entire day spent listening to it. Slowly, achingly, Ivan turns his head to find the source. Three students stand near the vending machine across the room, and one of them is –
Lovro. Lovro.
Lovro, with his blue hair half-hidden beneath the hood of his sweatshirt. Lovro, laughing softly with one hand wrapped around an energy drink can. Lovro, loitering shoulder-to-shoulder with two others – one guy tall and broad with blond hair, the other shorter and dark-haired and waving his hands around while he talks.
For a beat, Ivan’s brain simply refuses to process what he’s seeing. It just… doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t fit.
Because Lovro said university. Lovro said twenty-one. Lovro said –
Ivan is a soon-to-be divorced teacher trying to start over, and Lovro is the student he can't seem to stay away from.

It's not that Ivan is jealous - he knows well enough that there had been no love to lose in the first place between them. He's simply confused.
“Do you really think that's a good idea?” Ivan asks.
Lovro shrugs, the movement jolting them both. “It might be nice. You might like her now that she's not my girlfriend.”

“Or fantasize with me..?”, Ivan has said with a small chuckle, as he played with Lovro’s button nose, that small adorable shape of curve that tugs at his heart every so often. The same shape that he tried to memorize so often, replicated on his drawing, his sketches and his ideas though he felt it still barely mirrors the same living wonderful feels as the real things.
In which during one of those bad moments of Ivan's, Lovro will always come through and heals him.

Summary
Lovro tried for the fourth time in as many minutes to catch Ivan’s scent through the breeze. It was ridiculous, really. The air kept stealing it away before it could settle in his nose. The weed had this effect, it sharpened his senses in strange ways, dulling them in others. He’s already aware of this, but being attracted to Ivan’s scent is doubtfully a side effect, he’s well aware.

A loud sound of skin clapping echoed through the room and Ivan smirked at his boyfriend’s antics, wrapping his hands around Lovro’s waist and bringing him down onto the bed. The sound of skin clapping was soon replaced by Lovro’s yelp of surprise.

It was typical, really. Just as things were starting to look up for Ivan, he went ahead and fucked up his future like that. His teachers really believed in him, thought he had a genuine shot at making it into the Conservatory. Even his parents were coming around to the idea of him studying music professionally.
Anyway, there was no undoing the past. He’d have to make do with repeating his final year and studying Humanities at the local High School instead. He’d accepted it, but still felt directionless with no clue where life was taking him now. Well, that was, of course, until Lovro quite literally stumbled into his life.OR a reimagined version of Lovro and Ivan’s first interactions up until the first kiss, if Ivan were into music instead and a bit more artsy. Every interaction is grounded in music, as Lovro learns to finally explore the side of him that’s always been very moved by it *wink wink*.

Like Ivan stealing his shirts to wear in public spaces instead of reaching down to hold his hand. Like having to create fantasy scenarios in his mind about innocent affection. Discreet. Hidden. Like what he feels is something wrong. “Sure,” he says instead. “Maybe.”
A couple months down the line, Lovro gets a text from his father.

"What do you want?" Lovro almost barks, because if he looks tough enough, maybe the boy will ignore the tears in his eyes. Unfortunately, not only does his smile grow even bigger, revealing a row of teeth with a huge gap right in the middle, where he probably lost one or two, but he also circles Lovro to plant his feet firmly in front of him and points with a chubby little finger at his knee.
"That was dumb. You're not even a ninja. Nobody else could jump from there." He says, laughter so evident in his eyes that suddenly controlling his wobbling lip seems impossible, and the tears he was trying so hard to suppress start sliding down his cheeks freely.
"I tried to be a ninja too, one day." He says quietly after a few seconds, serious like he's sharing a secret he's never told anyone before. Lovro slowly turns his head towards him, eyes examining his face in search of the mocking glee he found there a few minutes ago. There's none.Or, the childhood friends who learn to love themselves, and each other.

A tale about salt water, summer berries, supermarket heists and saunas set in the summer house of a sleepy, shoreline town in Norway (say that again ten times fast).
It’s an indulgent fic filled with fluff, an almost non-existent plot and the not-so-subtle longing for the return of Scandinavian summer on my end. If you’re into the idea of some weird Skam/Sram crossover where Kolacic spend time in Norway and get to experience a bit of Norwegian culture, this is gonna be your jam. My English is perfectly fine, so if there are mistakes, it’s on me lol.
